Everything is just perfect , from the arrival welcome drinks and the staff are nice. The Onsen is also beautiful.
One thing is not good is the flashing on top of the ceiling is quite annoying for people who don’t like any light during sleep. If it can be improve, say can switch off during night time. Probably it’s a perfect hotel for family vacation!

There are various room types, such as Japanese-Western style rooms and Western style rooms, so it can be used for various occasions. All rooms have their own hot spring bath, and you can enjoy the "mysterious blue water" that is 100% natural spring water whenever you like during your stay.
The large public bath on the top floor, which was renovated in August 2024 and is exclusively for guests, has various baths such as indoor baths, open-air baths, box steam baths, cypress baths, and ceramic baths, so you can enjoy the hot springs to the fullest. From the open-air bath, you can enjoy a spectacular view of Beppu, which will be a special moment. *The color of the blue water changes depending on the day.
You can choose your favorite plan from Japanese kaiseki and teppanyaki. Please enjoy dinner at the restaurant, where each chef has prepared a meal using carefully selected ingredients.
The grounds include a Japanese garden and a Noh theater, and the traditional beauty of Japan can be felt everywhere. Antiques and modern paintings are on display inside the building, allowing you to enjoy a moment out of the ordinary.
"Hell," a tourist spot in Beppu, is within walking distance, making it an ideal base for sightseeing in Beppu. There is also a luggage storage service before check-in and after check-out, so you can enjoy sightseeing to the fullest. I recently stayed at Kannawaen Sanso Ryokan, and it was a truly remarkable experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff’s warm hospitality made me feel welcomed and relaxed. The ryokan is set in a beautiful, serene location, surrounded by nature, offering a peaceful retreat from daily life.
The room was spacious and tastefully decorated in traditional Japanese style, blending modern comforts with authentic charm. The private onsen attached to my room was a highlight, allowing me to unwind in soothing hot springs while taking in the picturesque views.
What truly sets Kannawaen apart is the attention to detail and personalized service. The staff went out of their way to ensure everything was perfect, making me feel truly cared for throughout my stay.
If you’re looking for a luxurious, tranquil getaway with impeccable service and a true Japanese experience, I highly recommend Kannawaen Sanso Ryokan. It’s a place we would love to visit again.

The hotel design is very unique, and the room planning is outstanding, offering large and comfortable spaces for both sleeping and general relaxation. The private onsen has 2 large glazed doors that open directly to the private terrace, plus a full width and height glazing, enabling the feeling of enjoying an external onsen.
The staff can communicate well in English and is very friendly and helpful.
The one observation that the hotel management can review is on the lighting in the luggage space, it is sensor operated, as one needs to organize the luggage for sometimes, the short duration of lighting on is not sufficient for the packing, please consider having the lighting be changed to manual operation. Otherwise, well done.

El propio hotel es similar a Dongjiang, el típico hotel japonés de rápidos, sin servicio de habitaciones, envía toallas limpias todos los días, coge el primer piso de los artículos de lavar, paga el desayuno más de 1600 yenes por una persona, y compré un sandwich al supermercado abajo, también es bueno

Worth for every JPY you've spent!! This is the best hotel for my trip. The location is just 30 sec. from the train station and bus stop, connected with the main street, and very close with the convenient store. The hotel style is so gorgeous, perfect combination between the traditional Japanese house and modern facilities. Completely clean and good smell since the front door. Peaceful, relax, and private. The Onsen are so nice and clean. And, yes! The food (both breakfast and dinner) are soooooo good!!
I'm so happy with this hotel. Fulfill my trip with the good memories.

La cena es agradable, una gran comida. sabiendo que es una práctica común fijar tiempo para la cena y el desayuno, pero como primera visita a Oita, el tiempo de cena de las 5:30 pm era demasiado pronto para mí. Sin embargo, las 7:30 pm estaban totalmente reservados en mi primer día de visita. El desayuno comenzó a las 7:30 y es demasiado tarde para que pueda llegar al tren para poder visitar Harmonyland.
Hay muchas actividades y me encanta el baño de pie y el servicio de café y té gratuito en la biblioteca de viajeros.
Aún recomiendo el hotel a los visitantes de Beppu.

WWu Kwok ChungThe hotel is situated 15 minutes taxi ride from the Beppu station. So we have nowhere to go that night. But it's good enough to have hotspring and drinks in the hotel. The staff is very polite and can explain what you can do in English. Then you were lead to the room and tips rejected.
We booked the Kaiseki dinner and breakfast. The dinner time is either 6pm or 6:30pm and the breakfast time 8am or 8:30. The dinner is good but maybe my expectation is quite high, it didn't reach my expectation, especially for the sashimi.
For the onsen, there are 4 private onsens and 2 public. One of the private onsens is closed. Therefore we can use 3. You can use the private onsen when it is not occupied. Just lock the door and turn the plate to the other side. But all the onsen are closed by 12 midnight. And there is a room with free flow beer and soda, but it closes at 10pm. Don't drink beer before taking hotspring.
There is also an onsen in our room which can be used anytime. It's hot at night but not so hot in the next morning. Overall, the view is good. The staff is good. The food is good (just not so great) and the onsens are good. Beppu is a good place to stay a few days more

QQiao YingI’m so glad that this hotel had a renewal earlier this year. It looks very new and clean now. It also has a fantastic location — only a 3-minute walk from Beppu Station and it is surrounded by numerous shops and restaurants. The huge Beppu Don Quijote is only 10 minutes away by foot. Luggage can also be stored at the cloak room for free before check-in. The onsen and sauna was very clean too! I had a really comfortable stay at this hotel.

Oonlywinxit's a small homey inn, amazing for cat lovers. you get to spend 1h in a room full of super friendly cats. their homemade breakfast and dinner is delicious and very filling - you even get to eat next to another room of cats!
the only downside is the location, which is 1 short train station (comes every 40mins) away from beppu station. it's a bit in the residential area, and the walk from higashibeppu station can get a bit quiet and dark, but overall still a great place to stay!

location: it's relatively further from the station , around a 8-10min walk. there is a 7-11 just around the corner
room: my room came without a bathroom but for the ladies are 3 cubicles shared among the 7 mix gendered guests on the floor. i did not have to wait in line at all. there was more than enough space in the room to open my suitcase wide and still feel comfortable. bed and pillow was a bit hard though, and you can hear anyone talking loudly downstairs outside the building as the room is on 2nd floor, tho that doesnt happen very often.
food: amazing balanced breakfast that changes everyday - really delicious!
onsen: the one on 2F was smaller than 1F, but very good and comfortable. clean too. you can book a private onsen room for 500yen (50mins)
staff: all of them were super friendly, helpful and made me feel welcome. there are english-proficient staff available 24H as well :)

GGLfifiStaff was friendly and helpful even though some couldn't converse in fluent English. Room was clean and we had a beautiful view of the sea. We even caught the sun rise!
Onsen both indoors and outdoors were clean. I enjoyed the outdoors onsen more because of the lovely Seaview from the rooftop. Breakfast was nice. Only complaint was that the futon was too thin, I could feel the floor. Otherwise it was a lovely stay

Only 2 parking spaces for 7 units. *Should also indicate in the booking system that parking spaces are first come first served and have to park at nearby paying car parks if both were being taken up.
Will be nice to provide some garbage bags in the room as clearing of food waste from the room was definitely necessary during the many days of our stay!
Dining table (super wobbly and one side of the table legs seemed like giving away very soon) needs to changed/repaired instantly!
