We (family of 4 with 2 grown up kids) stayed at Taru Villas for 4 nights at the start of September at the end of a two week Sri Lankan holiday. The hotel was excellent with everywhere beautifully decorated and the rooms were very spacious. As with most of the hotels we stayed at in Sri Lanka, the thing that really elevated the start was the fantastic staff. Everyone was super-friendly and nothing was too much hassle. The restaurant staff were absolutely amazing and so attentive and the chef consistently produced the best food (Sri Lankan and western) that we had on the holiday. The housekeeping team were also excellent, making sure everything was perfect with the rooms - great towel art too! We would not hesitate to return to Taru Villas if we were back in Bentota. Don't worry about the proximity of the railway track - trains are not that often and they provide a great photo op. Our only advice is to use the staff knowledge if you are heading out into Bentota or Aluthgama to buy things (spices, souvenirs etc) - they will help you know where to go and what is a reasonable price.

We stayed at the Taru Villas, the long house, for 4 nights as our last stop before returning home after a tour of Sri Lanka. Asanga, the manager was superb and gave us a warm welcome and tour of hotel after arrival. He also made the effort every day to talk with everyone during breakfast and dinner to ensure that everything was ok. All the staff were excellent, kind, attentive and of course always smiling. Our room was spacious, clean and we particularly liked the additional things which were provided to enhance our stay. For example, a citronella burner was lit in our room and balcony every evening, plus moisturiser provided to help keep the mosquitos at bay - which worked well as I am usually eaten alive! Breakfast and dinners were superb. The pool was fantastic; very warm and inviting. The beach area is literally at the end of the hotel grounds and the sea was the same temperature as the pool! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend the hotel to others. Thank you to everyone who helped make our stay so memorable and for all the extra work you did to make Valentine's Day special - you are all wonderful and we would certainly like to return.

Food. My review is in 2 parts, this is about our dining experience firstly. We had 4 nights here and it is without exaggeration the food was 5*..... We had the best breakfasts of fresh fruit and smoothie to start then the main of granola, curd, honey, banana and coconut a couple of times then the eggs benedict which was amazing. Dinner varied each night and it is fair to say every bit of every course was devoured and enjoyed!! A mix of genuine Sri Lanka cuisine and other meals were blended with sorbet between courses. Finally the staff were fantastic, well disciplined when serving, banter was entertaining and light hearted exactly as it should be. Perfect. The staff each deserve praise so a big thank you to Nimesh, Tharanga, Smith and Thisara!!

We stayed at the Long House for the final 4 nights of our 12 day Sri Lanka tour. The quality of the staff, service, food, accommodation was exceptional. We planned to eat out and visit the surrounding area, but the quality and friendliness kept us hotel bound.

I am not suer where I could start. MY last evening in Sri lanka I decided to splurge and so glad I did. Splendid property. Incredible service. Amazing dinner. If you have a chance please go. It will not let you down. Amazing beach it goes on for chilometers. And a lovely pool area with a bar/ restaurant.

I had an amazing experience during my stay in Villa Taru. The location and hotel are exceptional and staff super friendly and attentive. Perfect place to relax and unwind for a couple of days. I enjoyed every minute of my stay and would certainly visit again.

The Long House is one of the most distinguished, picturesque and luxurious properties that we have stayed in. The villa, which has been artfully camouflaged from the hustle-bustle of the main road, is an absolute stand-out in Bentota, blessed with scenic views, lush greenery & floral adornments, spacious-postcard rooms, beautiful outdoor pool, sun deck, bar & lawns, and the bonus elements of a railway track and a gorgeous beach right in the backyard! The staff, led by Geeth and Gayan, are absolute rock-stars, and took care of all our guests meticulously round the clock, attending to almost every special request/customization that we asked for and then throwing in that little extra which made the stay incredibly memorable and heartwarming for every one of the attendees. Just the way we hoped it’d be.. Taru Villas, you made my wife’s birthday celebration, as well as the stay experience of all our friends, totally epic and for that, you have our whole heart. This is a beautiful hotel with the worst possible service. Do NOT come here if you are expecting even a half decent service. The staff is most ill-prepared to receive guests. We ordered lunch and it took the team one and half hours to produce some small snacks. They got the order wrong. The room wasn’t ready as promised. Being nice and sweet only goes so far, particularly if you are charging 5 star luxury prices.

We stayed here 2 nights. This is spectacularly beautiful hotel. It is on the quiet side. The staff is extraordinarily nice. They take care of all the needs in the most pleasant manner. We shall visit this place again surely. The food is very delicious and again the service impeccable.
