SpringHill Suites Bentonville

Our focus for this hotel was purely to sleep as we were visiting family and not able to spend much time here. The staff were incredibly friendly and hospitable, however the room had a few issues. Despite some of the reviews here, the pillows were not fluffy and were as flat as a pancake, making sleeping very challenging. The biggest issue was the shower. Upon arrival, we noticed black mildew in the corners along the ceiling and although there was not much of it, we were curious as to how it got there. We didn't have long to wait. Our first night there, my 10-year old son took a shower first and the water pressure was so strong, that he was crying due to the pain. The water coming out of the shower head felt like metal B.B.s. I put my hand under the water and it hurt badly, even with my high tolerance for pain. Secondly, the water pressure was so high, that water spilled out of the curtain sides and top (from ricochets) of the curtain rod. Water was all over the ceiling, the walls and the floor. We had to go to the pool to obtain nine additional towels to dry up the water on the floor so we could walk on it to get out of the small bathroom. Our temporary fix was to take a washcloth and cover the shower head, tying it up there with my daughter's hair tie. This satisfactorily lessened the shower pressure but the washcloth caused the water to spray everywhere in the bathroom, which was about the same effect as without the washcloth on the shower head. In any event, we made it work, although we still left the nine towels on the floor to keep it "dry". My last point is that, we pre-paid for this hotel and the charges should have been completed, however when we checked out, a random $46.00 charge showed up on my credit card. We are not exactly sure how or why this spontaneously displayed on our card but we will be reaching out the hotel here shortly if it does not display what the charge is for. One last thing, it can be a bit tricky navigating the streets to gain access to the hotel parking lot. It is a safe place and perfectly located, just give yourself some time to access it, via the stoplights and one-way entrance. Your mileage may vary with this location but we were a bit non-plussed with it.

This hotel is nothing like any of the Springhill Suites I've stayed in. My room was $270 and should have been around $89-$125 per night. I'm not a hotel pricing pro, it's just that I've stayed in many interstate hotels across the country for around $100 a night that were in much better condition. The extra lock latch on the door was dangling off the wall, which for solo female travelers is not ideal. The toilet paper roll handle was coming off the wall with screws sticking out. The shower head was one of those that shoots sharp painful streams - couldn't put my face toward the water without fear of losing an eye. The bedside light did not work. The walls and thin. There was a gap on the side and bottom of the door so bright light from the hall shined in the room all night (and didn't help with noise). The carpet was old and frayed. Worse of all, and this can't be helped, my room was next to two doors - a stairwell door and one exit door which were both frequent and loud traffic. I used the gym and the water jug was empty, as well as the wipes container. When checking out, I mentioned a few of the problems with the room to the clerk and she did her best but could only say that she would report the problems and that the price was high due to the busy weekend. I guess I fell for the marketing of Springhill Suites being a consistent and reliable place to stay but I learned the hard way that there is not a standard for this hotel brand. I would definitely not stay here again.

Rooms are spacious and nicely decorated & the bath is equally well appointed. We rolled our bikes in for the night and there was still plenty of room for the two of us. Everything in the room worked as it should, including a good selection of TV channels. Our room seemed like a very good value for the price, with a sofa/sitting area to watch TV, a king bed and a well-stocked breakfast buffet. The front desk was friendly and helpful. This hotel is constructed with concrete floors, so the rooms are quiet. There is a fire sprinkler system throughout, a smoke detector system and card readers on the exterior doors, making this a safe place to stay. I deducted 1-dot off my review because the hotel location, near a busy intersection, makes entering and exiting the parking lot a bit of a challenge during busy traffic times. That said, there is a "back way" to exit the lot that brings you right to a stop light, but it's a little tricky and involves driving through the parking lot of a neighboring hotel.

The reservation process on the Marriott Bon Voy website, the general location, the rate, the parking and the desk staff were all good. The room was clean, spacious and quiet, with good lighting, electrical outlets, mirrors and seating options. The bathroom area was spacious, and the exhaust fan worked well. The air quality was good, and the window opened, though the HVAC filters were slightly dirty. The breakfast was excellent. The grounds were clean, and I did not notice any construction going on. As others have said, it was a challenge to get into the driveway because of the median, and we had to double back to make a right turn into the driveway. Construction on the Waffle House next door appears to be finished, however that restaurant had not yet opened when we were there in mid-July. I plan to stay at this Springhill Suites Bentonville again.

Had the opportunity to stay at this property recently for one night. My husband is a lifetime Titanium Marriott member and we were very impressed at how smoothly check in went. Time had been taken to check his profile for special requests for general room location which isn't the norm while traveling these days. Unfortunately, to meet my husband's profile requests, it put us in a room that normally would be perfect but at the time of our visit, there was construction going on for the gym. There were large storage containers, the size of a large dumpster, just a few feet from where we were advised to park and also right next to our room. This wasn't so much of a problem until the next morning when we were trying to sleep in a bit plus later when we were moving luggage to check out and the construction crew was busy in and out of the containers and the hotel hallway. Hopefully, the gym upgrades are finished or are soon to be. There is also an issue that other posters have mentioned about the property being hard to get in and out of because of the traffic patterns at the location. The front desk clerk advise us to use a back way behind another hotel property almost next door that helped by placing us at a traffic light but the driveways were in bad shape some of which could be because a Waffle House is being constructed between the two hotels. When home, we drive SUVs and our compact rental wasn't happy with our driving . That didn't ruin our stay but we look upon it as an adventure on our trip! The hotel will always have an issue about leaving the property, especially turning left. Just be patient!! On the positive side, the room itself was very comfortable, breakfast was good and the staff was great. I know that improvements do provide some headaches before the finished product. Assuming the construction at and next door to this property are finished now, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Nothing negative to say. Cookie cutter stay in a solid small-town Marriott property. Check-in was fast, no mention of Bonvoy Titanium status but not a big deal for this kind of stay. Plenty of parking, standard breakfast and hot coffee. Easy access to interstate. Would stay again for quick work trips.
