We were able to get an early check in as we asked. The room was really nice, larger than expected. The room was extremely clean, which was great. They gave us a room near the elevator, since I have mobility issues. I appreciated that. The bad however is that the top of the king size bed, was at least three feet from the floor. I am barely 5 ft tall, plus have walking issues, so I could not get on the bed. There was a sofa bed but we were NOT paying well over $100 a night for me to sleep on a sofa bed. I called the front desk and asked if all their beds were this high, yes there are. I asked if there were step stools available, she said they had one they had given to another customer earlier. Luckily, we had a small step stool we had brought that I use to climb in and out of my husband's truck, so I was able to use that, but it was still difficult at best. The mattress was quite comfortable, until you found the center where it sank a bit. The pillows were ok, one hard and one soft. The next day the staff tried to locate another stool but were not able to. They were very apologetic. The air conditioner was horrible. We got maybe a couple of hours sleep each of the two nights we were there. It was so loud, each time it cycled on and off, it sounded like some loud dishwasher running or something. There is a restaurant and bar/lounge as well, with a lovely outdoor area near the marsh area. This was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. Our first night there, after we came back from dinner, we decided to sit outside on the patio. It was so nice. There were people there eating, having a glass of wine, etc. The server not once acknowledged us, ever the entire time we were out there, which was a couple of hours at least. The restaurant menu is limited, especially for breakfast. Our last night, we decided to eat dinner there, it was very good. We had ribeye steaks, potatoes, and a veggie medley. The morning we left, we ate breakfast there as well. It was not good at all. VERY little to choose from. We wanted grits, but they don't have them. This hotel is in the SOUTH, were grits are eaten everywhere. I had waffles, which were four small waffles, served with two small to go containers of syrup. Barely enough for one of the small waffles. I ordered a side of bacon, where I got two cold strips. My husband ordered 3 eggs cooked over medium, breakfast potatoes, and sausage, toast. He only got 2 eggs, and they were not done, the white was raw. So he sent his plate back to have them done right. Another thing, there was only one server, and she was handling all of the tables by herself, no help at all. There were at least ten tables of customers while we were there. At one point, one family left because she never came to their table. I felt bad for her having to handle so much alone. But in spite of that, she did pretty well. This hotel would be so much better if they would really expand the menu for the on site restaurant. I think it wo
