This was our first stay at the Bay View Inn and we were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary. It is a beautiful Inn with so much history . The Inn is one of the oldest hotels in the area and it did not disappoint. The outside of the Inn has a porch with wicker chairs and a beautiful view of the water. There are 2 floors that are guest rooms and there is an old style elevator which is very, very tiny, but that just added to the charm of the Inn. The floors creak and the stairs do as well, but again, that just adds to the charm. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and reservations for dinner were made for us by the front desk. After Labor Day, no dinner is served in the dining room, but it is open for breakfast and lunch. You are given a voucher for breakfast or lunch and 1 $40.00 voucher for dinner. The only issue we had, which really wasn't a big issue is the bacon, both days, were overdone and almost burnt. We didn't want to say anything as this was a complimentary breakfast, but hopefully it was just a one time thing. The French Toast was the best I have ever had. There are a few restaurants to pick from for dinner and I would suggest the Pier restaurant in Harbor Springs, which is only 10-15 minutes away. You also get a voucher each night for 1 complimentary drink and also Hors d' Oeuvres. Beautiful views from the porch and places to walk around the Inn. If you are looking for a quaint and enjoyable place to stay, this Inn is where you want to stay. It was like stepping back in time. Thank you to all, from the front desk to the housekeeping.
