The Stockade Bed and Breakfast

Great experience at The Stockade. The hosts were very welcoming. The room was very spacious and just as advertised on the website. Great breakfast each morning. Best part was meeting many very nice guests at the inn over the course of my stay. I would gladly stay here again next time in Baton Rouge.

What a lovely place for a weekend escape. We have never stayed at a Bed and Breakfast before, and if this is what they are like, then we are hooked. The Welch Room was comfortable! Ask her about the soft luxury sheets. Janice is the perfect innkeeper, and she put together a fantastic breakfast and held great conversation with us and the other guests. We will return, even with in only being 10 miles from our house.

The Stockade Bed and Breakfast was spacious, clean and quiet. We enjoyed the large bedroom with lots of seating. The comfortable lodging also included a big living room area. There were lots of brochures regarding nearby activities. We enjoyed wine on the patio. The breakfasts were delicious! Great location and easy parking.

Lovely welcome and made to feel at home in the Stockade. A very experienced innkeeper who knows her business and the industry. Went over and beyond what is normally to be expected from a host. Lovely home and our room was comfortable and spacious. I would highly recommend this place. Easy to get to and from all the sights of Baton Rouge. Plenty of local dining options too,

Absolutely wonderful! The property is wooded and flowers were just starting to bloom. Janice has chosen wonderful historic antiques that make this B&B so cozy . Our room was appointed beautifully. Bed and pillows were comfy. Very spacious room with lots of special touches. Isaac prepared a delicious breakfast of pancakes, quiche, croissants and fruit. We will stay here the next time we come to visit LSU. Thank you Janice for making us feel so welcome!

The inn is lovely and our room was very nice with its furnishings and amenities. Compared to other B and B's, the breakfast was a huge disappointment (scrambled egg with a side of ham that was dry and had the consistency of leather). The sausage was inedible. After informing them of allergies to shrimp and crab, I was served a plate with a sorry looking piece of crab quiche. The location was convenient to LSU, but all in all we were disappointed. No personal touches (no employee in the breakfast room as covered prepared plates were simply set out). We were essentially on our own. Certainly not up to standards we have experienced at other B and B's.

My husband and I were on holiday from the UK and stayed 2 nights in October. What a great find and we we’re delighted with our accommodation. Our room was clean, comfortable, well appointed and spacious. Located at the front of the property I can honestly say we heard no traffic noise at all and enjoyed a good nights sleep both nights. Breakfast was freshly cooked, beautifully served and delicious. We wanted to visit the plantations situated along the Great River Road which was an influence in where we chose to stay and in this regard the location was excellent. If our hire care hadn’t had to be returned the afternoon of our arrival I’m sure it would have been equally convenient to downtown which we had hoped to explore. With a restaurant and bar directly opposite which we enjoyed both nights, we were happy vacationers! Janice and Gerry were fantastic hosts and made us feel extremely welcome. We were returning to BR the weekend of the Tigers v Auburn game which we were lucky enough to have tickets for. We would have loved to check in with them again but sadly (for us) they were already fully booked. Tells you all you need to know. Thank you for a great stay and wishing you all the best.

Beautiful house in a nice location; comfortable furnishings and wonderful breakfasts. We visited The Stockade as a group of four and stayed in the two bedroom suite, located on the second floor. The blue room is on the back of the home and has a nice patio that we enjoyed early in the mornings and late in the evenings. There is a Jack and Jill bath connecting with the red room and our friends stayed in that room. Both rooms were decorated nicely and we appreciated seeing the beautiful furnishings and decor. The sheets were so comfortable and I’m thinking I need to buy some for my home. The shower was hot and the water pressure was great. We used the living room downstairs which had comfortable seating and lots of room for all of us plus others who were staying. We stayed two nights so we were treated to two delicious breakfasts and also enjoyed chatting with the hostess. While in the Baton Rouge area we visited many locations on the Louisiana Libations Trail to include breweries: Istrouma, Rally Cap, Gilla, Agile, Le Chien, and Cypress Coast, as well as Sugarfield Spirits, Laissez Versez, and Three Roll Estate. We also visited a Burgersmith, Doe’s Eat Place, and Elsie’s Plate and Pie. We had a nice early morning Saturday visit to the Magnolia Mound Plantation. The Stockade felt like home as we visited the city and we highly recommend a stay.

We had a wonderful stay at the Stockade. Janice is a very welcoming host. The Stockade is full of charm and our bedroom was large and very comfortable. The home cooked breakfast and all the anecdotes and stories shared by Janice over a cup of coffee will remain one of the highlights of our trip. A wonderful find we highly recommend.
