Royal Hotel

Very convenient location and nice place for a solo travel trip. Great facilities as well.

Attended on Tuesday 27th Feb. Paid a little extra for room with a bath as like the couple ****** we are, we wanted a bath in Bath. My wife's first time ever visiting here. The hotel is a lovely setting, there is history here and all the staff have been wonderful. Close to the station, literally in front of it, and close to everything. Had the great pleasure of having many encounters with Tim, one of the reception staff and I believe concierges. Super pleasant and always helpful. We had breakfast included and after having that this morning can honestly say it's bang for your buck, with hot food to order including steak and eggs, (best steak my wife has had in the UK), a breakfast grill and a selection of others plus a typical selection of baked goods and fruits. The bar is pleasant and we enjoyed drinks last night before heading up to our room. Strawberry daiquiri we have had many times but the Amaretto sour was an interesting twist with a strong lemon zest. The only downside to the visit would be the bath/shower experience. Lukewarm bath and cold shower when we attempted it last night. This morning we got hot water for a total of ten mins to share before it went cold again. Not the worst thing all in all but a downside considering the extra pricing for a bathtub room. I was however assured that had I brought it to the desks attention I would have been assisted and I had just done the British thing of not wanting to fuss. One last perk that made an impact to me; free luggage storage. We checked out early so we could make the best of our time exploring Bath before we ride home. We were offered free luggage storage for even after we checked out so we could come back in quick before our train at 3pm and grab our bags and go, no extra charge. Fantastically useful as the Abbey tour does not allow luggage inside and we wanted to go. Anyway, thank you to Tim and all the staff at The Royal for making us feel welcomed and our time there special, we will definitely be coming back someday soon and will stay again. - Liam and Jenny Stephenson, Room 109. Fantastic Hotel - great location - perfect for the train station and wandering around Bath. Our room was clean, tidy and comfortable. Very good, tasty breakfast. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. Thanks for a lovely stay. We’ll definitely be back!

It was so inconvenient and disappointing that on our arrival day we were refused by the reception lady when we asked to leave our luggage s before checking in, for the reason that there is no space . We have no choice but paid extra money to use luggage storage services outside the hotel.

Very convenient location. Historic building with a great atmosphere

Hard to know where to start….I guess the friendliness of the staff, from Tim and Andrea at reception, to Dave and Ryan at the bar to Ashling and Ava in the restaurant, we couldn’t have been made more welcome. The room was immaculate, we had 114 with the four poster bed, lovely tray of Twinings tea, ground coffee and cookies. Water in the room was welcome. Power shower was great. The bed was really comfy and despite the room being old worldly there was no compromise on comfort. Take advantage of the dinner inclusive offer - you will not be disappointed by the quality of the food. The general manager, Mick, is such a character, very hands on and constantly on the go making everyone’s stay brilliant.

This is our 3rd visit to The Royal and consistently we have received a warm and friendly welcone from excellent attentive staff throughout the hotel. Exceptional dining experience both breakfast & dinner with a good menu choice, housekeeping to a high standard.

Another wonderful stay here. We were allocated room 114 which had the most comfortable 4 poster bed. I love the fact they actually put 2 pillows each on the bed 👌 Lovely large bathroom and all spotless. We ate in the restaurant and it was excellent. I had the Brie starter my hubby had the mussels. We both had steak which was cooked to perfection. Hubby couldn’t eat his dessert which was Éton mess as he was too full. I had the brûlée yum yum. Breakfast was gorgeous with plenty of choice. Tim was his usual fantastic self😊 All the staff we met were friendly and happy. Mike you are doing it right. Thank you. Can’t wait to return.

Beautiful building staff were amazing and friendly x good value for money x clean tidy and picturesque for its settings. In the heart of Bath both bus station and train station within a stones throw x wonderful menu and good variety and range of food on offer and fabulous coffee xx
