We only stayed one night but we were really impressed with the warm welcome, great service and a fantastic full irish breakfast. Very stylish bathroom and furnishings. Would stay here again if we were visiting the area and would recommend this to others

A beautiful stay, with great food, vintage decorated but modern rooms, a lovely garden to stroll through with chickens and warm hospitality. Would love to point out the high tea is amazing (scones and jam made local) and their 5 course dining experience is amazing!!! The private chef is so kind and talented (you must try her potato dishes…). The dinners feel very romantic and intimate. Which is rare to find! A bit thank you to Alessio and his charming wife for the fantastic stay. Highly recommend 🙂 They really care for your needs! I would say this is a perfect countryside retreat if you’re looking for a home away from home. There are many nice natural sites to visit here. Worth a stop by for sure!

My wife and I spent 2 days at Blackwell House for a quick break and had a fantastic time. We stayed in the Loft Suite which was very spacious, with a huge comfy bed, great bathroom and a hot tub on the terrace overlooking fields. Like the whole house, it was spotlessly clean and beautifully appointed. On the first night we had the 5 course dinner which was lovely - all the food was very fresh, tasty and well presented - Edele is an excellent cook. On the second night we had Swiss dishes suggested by Alessio, cheese fondue and raclette - this was a great experience, and we are now sourcing out our own raclette equipment! The breakfasts each morning were gorgeous as well. They use as much of their own home or locally grown ingredients as possible, and you can tell in how everything tastes. Edele and Alessio are impeccable hosts and really make you feel special. For anyone looking to have a couple of days away or use it as a place to explore Northern Ireland I would really recommend Blackwell House. We will certainly try and get back in the future, it's a real 5 star experience.

We spent a couple days again this year at Blackwell House and it was another throughly enjoyable time. The accommodations are wonderful and the diners a treat. The owners were beyond gracious and I would highly recommend it if you need a relaxing stay near the Dublin or Belfast areas Very much worth your time

We stayed four days in Orchard room. It was spotless, with very comfortable bed, excellent linens and towels, plus new bathroom with a large tub and 2-person shower. Robes, in- room fridge, fresh flowers , and bottled water were a few extras

We booked an overnight stay with 5 course dinner and the whole experience was wonderful. We were greeted on arrival by Edele ( who owns & runs the business along with her husband Alessio) and were given a quick history of the house and how they acquired it. We were then shown to our lovely ensuite bedroom with everything top notch with some lovely subtle touches and a most comfortable bed. We availed of the 5 course tasting dinner and each course was exceptional with Edele explaining the ingredients in each dish. It was a lovely relaxing evening in beautiful surroundings. What really stood out for us most was the warmth of the welcome and the huge pride and commitment that Adele and Alessio displayed in making Blackwell House a unique 5 star offering. Wishing them all the best for the future and we will return. Katie & Jim Kent

We booked the afternoon tea event part of the Armagh Food & Cider Weekend @ Blackwell House for a special birthday celebration for our mum and it did not disappoint! Adele & Alissa & all the staff welcomed us individually & there the most wonderful afternoon began … we were treated to the most beautiful home made treats, with the promised apple twist, in the beautiful garden surroundings. Definitely a hidden gem in Armagh …. Treat yourself, Blackwell House & everything about it is 5 star!!!!!!

Our stay at Blackwell House was truly one of the highlights of our two weeks in Ireland. It is nestled in the most beautiful area of Northern Ireland and the accommodations were above and beyond expectations. The photos do not do it justice! Edele and Alessio were extraordinary hosts and prepared the most sumptuous 5 course dinner our first night followed by incredible breakfasts the following mornings. Their attention to detail can be see everywhere from the spectacular gardens to their meticulously renovated home and gorgeous guest rooms. Highly, highly recommend Blackwell House!!

Had my baby shower here today and I have to say it's the best afternoon tea I have ever had. The service was fantastic from first contact and nothing was too much trouble. Everyone had such a good time. Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome. We'll definitely be back 😊
