Hotel now goes by Nur House by Purely. Located 5 minutes from bustling Ubud up a paved path. We arrived in Bali at midnight so contacted In advance via WhatsApp and they arranged a driver to meet us at the airport and escort us to our room at the hotel. Beautiful setting, surprisingly large pool, Monkey Bar restaurant open 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and destination restaurant right next door as well as coffee shop nearby. Peaceful area to explore. During busy times you share the path with scooters so remember that the biggest (not you!) gets priority in Bali. Highly recommend as so close to town yet. So peaceful. Quality linens, room, and AC. We were happy with all of our interactions with the staff.

I REALLY wanted to love this place. The grounds are very pretty and the spacious upper floor room I was in was very spacious, clean and beautifully furnished. Breakfast was also pretty tasty. Awesome location on the edge of the Kajeng Rice Fields and 5 minutes to the main road. There are plenty of alternative meal options within walking distance. Inviting private pool at the rear of the property. Steady WiFi. However, the cons equalled the pros. The staff, while lovely, are extremely young and very inexperienced. It was also very difficult to communicate with them... My shower had ZERO water pressure and took a good 15 minutes to heat up. This also rendered the bath useless...The room does not have a fridge... The aircon was struggling to stay cool.

Bali This review is from 2020 buT never got submitted and was sitting here as a draft Having a last minute cruise change of plans in Singapore forced us to reevaluate our holiday and advance our stay in Bali by about 3 weeks. So, with a few hours notice before flights, we researched where to stay in Ubud from a choice of about 50 places Criteria.not on a busy street Not far from town center or activities, Pool Internet Breakfast included Surroundings. Well, we spent 5 days and exhausted ourselves of the things to do in that area, but it was still hard to leave. The pool area was so tranquil and the air was so still. 6 bungalows on a raised platform in what used to be rice fields, with nothing pretentious. Cost , approx $60 cdn. per day. Very tranquil, lovely young people looking after the place.spent 5 days there The Ubud place still requires a walk up a path if 3-5 minutes and the path is shared with scooters. But that is part of the ambience. They meet you at the bottom and put your luggage on scooters to bring them up. And, there are tons of these places much further up this dead end path. This is the second closest. We did walk much further up the path, 2 minutes away , a fabulous little lunch spot with 6 seats, or you can just buy a drink and keep walking. 4 minutes away was this gorgeous yoga studio on 2 levels in sort of a rainforest environment. My wife used it 3 days.Apparently all of Ubud is like this once you leave the main drag. Breakfasts were fabulous, and unlike so many other places, once you told them what you like or don’t like, they looked after it day after day. She looked at over 50 on line to come up with this. I was sad to leave I have a well respected driver (Bali Airport Transfer)we found on trip advisor whom I have engaged for airport pickup, for myself , my son, two others as well as a private car for an afternoon tour. The island has lousy road connections, only one highway just at airport junction so everything you will do will be in bad traffic zig zag across and up and down the island.

The surrounding rice fields, views, and the private cabin rooms are wonderful, a retreat from the chaotic areas of Ubud and Bali. The wood cabins/rooms are beautifully designed and make you feel happy to be in the special place you are. Privacy and quiet are easy to find here. The Monkey Bar at the front of the hotel is a great place for peaceful, relaxing music, good food (breakfast was superb), great views and sunsets, refreshing, good drinks , and Bintang beer. I want to come back!

Overall, a positive experience, though we may try somewhere else in Ubud next time. Positives: - short stroll to city center, yet very quiet area among rice fields (if you don't mind a 5 minute uphill walk). - Beautiful and refreshing surrounds. - Nice and clean pool - Good service - Polite, friendly and VERY helpful staff Negatives: - Rooms were not super clean. Ants did huge excavation works in different corners of the the room everyday, creating piles of sand - Our room had windows all around, but with 1-way glass, which made it quite dimly lit both in days and nights. - Low water pressure, though it may be everywhere in Ubud - Breakfast options are limited

We stayed in Ubud for a few days and enjoyed the nice swimming pool and close by rice field of the guest house (including frog sounds at night:)). The bedroom was a bit dark (a lot of dark wood and little lighting), a bit more lighting would make a big difference for me personally. The fruit at breakfast unfortunately tasted of onions, probably someone cut onions with the same knife before. It can happen, but shouldn't occur regularly. All in all it was a nice place with a friendly host.
