Booked the villa after seeing glowing reviews of the place online. However it turned out to be just the opposite.
Day 1: Greeted by staff and was shown to the villa. Toilet did not flush - reported to staff, and was told that they will get engineer to fix while we went out for dinner. Back at the villa around 10pm, toilet was not clogged anymore. However, when we use the toilet again - flush did not work. Reported to staff again at 10.30pm. Staff mentioned that engineer will come to check again. However at 10.55pm, no one came. As the villa service is only until 11pm, we went to check with staff - and were told that it’s too late and no one will be coming until next morning. As it is not reasonable for us to stay in a room with clogged toilet and without toilet facilities, I requested for help or to move room. Engineer arrived at 11.30pm and fixed until 12am before I could bath and go to bath.
Day 2: Toilet did not work again. Reported to the manager. Manager said he will work with the engineer while we were out in the day. Told manager that it needs to be fixed or change room. At 2+pm, manager said they need more time to fix, hence, I went back to villa at 4+pm. Engineer was still in the room. I am unable to use the private pool or bath. Finally the engineer confirmed that the issue is fixed with replacement of parts.
Day 3, Part 1: Villa door bell ringing non stop at 8.30am. I had intended to sleep in but got disturbed. I didn’t had the keys with me hence asked what the staff needed. No response. Next thing I know - they opened the door with master key. I wasn’t properly dressed - I felt that my privacy has been invaded. The staff got the breakfast timing wrong and came in to delivery breakfast. Breakfast timing given to the hotel the day before was on whatsapp - for 9.30am.
Day 3, Part 2: My husband wanted to take a shower before heading out. No water available. Reported - both staff and manager said it should be issue with the pump and they should be able to fix it soon. Waited for 20mins. No updates. My husband had to bath from a bucket of water that was saved in case the toilet doesn’t work again.
Above shows that the villa is not well maintained - it could have been a great place to stay in the past. But with what I experienced and the price paid, I certainly don’t wish this for anyone on holiday.
I have feedback to management but all I get is they hear me, there is nothing they can do for me but they will take my feedback. I hope owner of the hotel can see this. This is certainly not what I expect from the marketing efforts that is done for the group.
