Kelapa Mas Homestay

We had our New Years Eve dinner and ir was lovely. Indonesian family cozy atmosphere, nice food buffet, Lelong dance by the children. We stumbled across Kelapa Mas while wandering thru Candidasa. We were staying at another alleged 3 star accommodation which was not up to scratch. We were able to get rooms at Kelapa mas and as it happens they were the 2 beach front rooms. Clean and large space for 1 person. It was safe and quiet. We were 2 of only 6 -8 people staying here. Staff are friendly and as helpful as possible. Breakfast was adequate. I have have much better tho. I understand the need to reduce food waste, however I would say the breakfast was on the mean side in terms of portion size. Extra $ for fresh juice which is ridiculous. I moved rooms to 3b, which was ok. However its clear that there has been little to no maintenance done to the rooms in quite a long time. The gardens are beautiful and meticulously kept, however I for one would prefer a clean room and bathroom with effective water pressure and no bugs crawling over my towel, or soap! The lock on the door was interesting as well. I trust Balinese implicitly don't get me wrong. It was disconcerting I have to say, not having what I would consider a safe and effective lockable door. Kelapa Mas advertises as a home stay. It may mean something else around the world, but we read it as you stay with a family. Which is not my idea of a fun holiday. Kelapa Mas is definitely not a home stay. It needs a bit of TLC and some modernisation to bring it up to what it could be. It was a lovely place to stay. It really was.

Joli structure en bord de mer. Ce qui fait le charme de ce complexe est le jardin luxuriant dominé par de jolis cocotiers ainsi que le petit déjeuner en admirant la mer. Par contre les équipements sont vieillissant, les bungalows sont confortables mais sous équipés, pas de bouilloire, la salle de bain est triste, la décoration minimaliste.Il n'y a pas de distrbuteur d'eau potable.
