I’m a loyal guest of the Santika group hotels, but my recent stay at Amaris Sunset Road Bali was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I've ever had—definitely the worst Amaris I’ve stayed in.
From the very beginning, things went wrong. I was first given room 226, only to find out there was already someone inside. They moved me to room 221, but unfortunately, it was in terrible condition.
The room smelled strongly of sewage and the odor never went away. The ceiling had mold, and in the bathroom, it looked like it was about to collapse. There was even a cockroach in there. The shower didn’t work properly—water came out of both the showerhead and faucet because the switch was broken and falling off. The faucet at the washbasin was also extremely hard to turn.
Cleanliness was a big issue too. There were lots of hairs on the floor, Spider net above AC, Stainer on headboard, dirty trashbon cover that easily cleaner. Almost empty body Soap and shampoo dispenser. absolutely dirty room mirror. the pillows smelled musty and had stained pillowcases, and the mattress was old and uncomfortably hard. Room not sound proof. Can't sleep hearing Vehicles sound in front. Upon check-out at 5:30, reception not on desk, but on lobby starways playing mobile games 😅
Really disappointed, especially from a brand I usually trust.
Good thing, good Bfast, they provide free flow water gallon. Friendly staff. Cold AC. Good wifi.
