Lucky Star Ella

In my experience with Tripadvisor I always write Good reviews but this MOTEL / mini hotel Needs to get shut down. LUCKY STAR & HEART OF ELLA in one building same name street signs. Address: Kitelella Rd, Ella 90090, Sri Lanka. This is not a Hotel but a rundown MOTEL little out of Elly downtown.  - No safety deposit boxes in rooms. Please see attached pictures  - No Hot water at all or is constantly running out. I could not find any HOT WATER In the shower.  - No ventilation in the bathroom (No window or extractor fan not working ) leaving the bathroom misty after taking a shower and leaving it smelly after using the toilet.  - Rude or slow customer service Issues with No parking or we have to walk from the street uphill at least 100 meters carrying our own bags and up to five floors up by stairs. - Room cleanliness / balcony full of  construction cement dust / broken torn furniture. See attached pictures.  - Unpleasant odors. - Difficulty accessing Wi-Fi  / not working at all. T.V in the room , but no power or electricity to the TV Box. - Lack of in-room and or hotel amenities  No tea bags but only one sugar packet. - Inability to control temperature or humidity  / No A.C ( one ceiling fan blocked by hanging roof panel / poor installation. See attached picture. - Poor &  Cost and or no food and beverages. -  In the late evenings / nights no one is at the front entrance for any help's.  - Elevator accessibility not at all ( going up to the rooms four floors by stairs). - No Front desk service or room service. -  On arrival, I found garbage cans full of dirty waste left by previous guests / old towels.  - Problems with the hotel’s website or app. - I am a Canadian citizen but once I started to complain to the Caretaker & his wife. "He  told me this is the reason he dont allow any one from locals". Even tho I booked from Canada five weeks before and paid in  full price like foreign guest over US $80. - The Caretaker thinks because of my skin colour I am not a foreigner but he can see and take information from my Canadian passport? -  We are going to complain regarding “discriminatory practices” followed by these motel  tourist establishments against dark skinned  foreigners  and Sri Lankan Citizens to the Sri Lanka Tourists Board Chairman.  - Sri Lankans are “Good hearted people with Love and caring”  but this hotel / MOTEL  caretaker needs to go for basic training. -This hotel caretaker doesn't have any hotel experience at all, - using his son and daughter as “child labourers”. - Local authorities should investigate the child labourers practices by this Hotel / I mean by this Motel caretaker. - When I asked for the name and telephone number of this MOTEL Owner, Caretaker said he is in Australia (may be a Sri Lankan born Australian). - Owner should come back and take over the  property before he loses himself. - I could go on but I'm not going to waste any more time. - I have honestly never been anywhere and met such rude two faced staff (e

This is a small family run local hotel. Great value for price. When you arrive you will question your booking looking up at the hotel but once you enter the views from the rooms are gorgeous. Basic rooms, clean, hot water kettle, fridge and outdoor deck. Breakfast with the room is standard for everyone with local fruit, tea, basic omelet and their local made bread. 15 minute walk to town or Tuk Tuk available.

Sehr netter aber nicht aufdringlicher Gastgeber. Zimmer sind top, wir haben noch ein Zimmerupgrade nach der 1 Nacht gegen kleinen Aufpreis bekommen. Zimmer waren beide sehr sauber uns super stylisch und süß mit Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Das Frühstück war immer top und auf nachfragen haben wir sogar Nachschlag bekommen. Am ersten Abend hat der Besitzer uns in die Stadt gehem sehen als er zufällig an uns vorbei ist, jat angehalten und uns kurzerhand mit genommen. Ich kann nicht eine negative Sachen äußern, es wwr einfach wunderbar, ich kann es vom herzen weiter empfehlen :)
