Terrible customer service, unsafe and out of date facilities. This place survives on the fact that it’s right on the lagoon. We arrived and were greeted warmly. They reserved a taxi for us for the next day, and when we asked for towels for the lagoon they said they could provide extra with no problem, never mentioned a fee. The lady was very eager to get us to buy kayak service but we kindly declined it. Late that evening when I showered I slipped and fell hard on my right glute. The shower is all slick tile with nothing to keep you from slipping, not grips, not a Mat, nothing, it also on a very steep grade. I complained to the staff and informed my brothers to put a towel on the floor and on the shower floor as they are bigger guys. I let them know that I would probably give them a low rating as I had to take pain meds and my glute was inflamed. I was very angry but nonetheless kept my cool. The manager said I was in my right and understood. Hadn’t paid yet and decided to eat next door. I told them to take the situation into account and they said they would talk to upper management. I let them know that if this was serious they would have to pay for any medical expenses related to the accident (I was in a lot of pain and really trying to keep my composure). When I got back they informed me that I would get a 10% discount. I thought this was an insult and got a bad attitude from the front desk staff. That night I only slept 3 hours.I found that they have a lot of terrible reviews and regretted it because the room only had a fan and was super hot.In the morning I heard the manager say “man I don’t know if the taxi charge was per person or per cab” at this point I was tired of their lack of professionalism and just walked outside and hailed my own cab for less. I asked her to cancel the taxi (it was still 22 minutes to the time and it’s a small town). She became upset and immediately asked about our towels. I grabbed them from the room(we were checked out) and she wanted to charge us for them. I reminded her that no one informed us they had a charge and that those types of things need to be said up front. She gave me attitude and said that the cancellation of the taxi should have been said up front as well. I told her that it felt like she was trying to get her “discount” back. She then told me that the floor had not been wet and front staff heard nothing regarding my fall, at this point I reminded her that I fell INSIDE the shower and wasn’t going to play these bait and switch games and got in my taxi. I’ll never return, terrible experience
