Nyikani Camp - Tarangire

We spent our first night of Safari in Nyikani Camp and it was fantastic. We had a warm welcome, the tent was very clean, cosy, comfortable and with an amazing sunrise view. The dinner was one of the best meals we had during the safari, very tasty and tender beef. Our favourite part was the breakfast surrounded by Elephants, it will be one of the happiest memories of our trip. All the staff was very friend, kind, and made our experience very special. We were escort all the time to our tent in the night and during the day when the elephants were too close. Thank you so much to all the Nyikani Camp team! I would highly recommend this camp to have an unforgettable experience.

This was our first accommodation on our honeymoon trip to Tanzania. The location is quite far from the entrance (about a 2.5-hour drive), but we thoroughly enjoyed the ride to the camp. We were fortunate to see many elephants, giraffes, and other wildlife along the way. Upon arriving at the camp, the staff Elieta/Kelvin/Eric were very welcoming and professional. After checking in, we had a hot water shower. The hot water is manually replenished by the staff, and they waited outside to ensure we had enough hot water to wash off the dirt and exhaustion from the journey. The taste of the dinner was definitely beyond our expectations. Before we came to Africa (we're from Singapore), we had some doubts about the food since it was our first time here. However, the food at the camp was amazing. We enjoyed every meal, including the hamper provided for the next two days. We also had a great night's sleep over the two days. Although we did hear animals howling in the middle of the night, we felt safe. Once it got dark, someone would escort us every time we left or returned to the tent to ensure our safety. Last but not least, we had a bonfire set up on the second night, which was the highlight of our camp experience. Two staff members, Kalvin and Eric, safely guarded me and my husband while we enjoyed the bonfire (a big thank you to them!). Overall, we had a wonderful time here and look forward to returning soon. (One small reminder: the tse-tse flies and mosquitoes can be quite annoying since the camp is in the wilderness. Make sure to bring repellant and wear long sleeves and pants throughout your stay.)

This camp was amazing. It was our first night on safari and we couldn't believe how kind, welcoming and friendly the staff was. The accommodations were beyond what we had expected as far as nice and clean. This is definitely "glamping" for sure. This was the only lodge we stayed at that had a bucket shower and it was wonderful. We were so glad we got to experience what it was like. So easy to deal with. I was a little apprehensive before our trip when I read about them online, but it was a great experience. The staff is what made this lodge extra special. I highly recommend it.

We did an all inclusive stay which I highly recommend. Chaz did a fantastic job walking us through expectations and guidelines to keep us safe in the camp. I traveled with my 2 teenage sons and the camp was lovely, simplicity and elegance combined. The staff were so friendly, the food was delicious and the tents were very clean. I loved the encouragement to let go and be present in the Serengeti; the wifi was only available in the main tent. This was perfect as my older son stayed in the main area on his phone but since he needed to be escorted back to the tent it put a natural boundary on his phone time. We saw so much in the Tarangire, elephants, zebras, giraffes, countless beautiful birds, hyena, and the leopard was spotted multiple times right outside the camp! Such a treat falling asleep to the sounds of the animals communicating - lions, leopards, zebra, hyena. Chaz manages an efficient, well run camp and kitchen while Eric and Humphrey made us feel at home and well cared for. We did a night tour with James, Walter, and Ruben seeing genets, owls, elephants, foxes, even a serval - we hung out and watched it hunt then cross the road right in front of the vehicle. We loved the whole experience!

Visited with my wife for our honeymoon / 1-year anniversary in July and we were met with unbelievable hospitality. The entire camp staff (including our guides, James and Gasper) treated us like family and capped off our stay with a private dinner under the stars in the African bush. The food was incredible each day and we left Nyikani Tarangire with lifelong memories. Would absolutely recommend!
