Holiday Inn Austin Midtown

I checked in at this hotel the first thing I saw when I checked in was the carpet super dirty and not Clean at all the second day the AC was leaking and the carpet was all water I called the front desk about it and told me the will send the maintenance to look at it they came checked it and said this will stay like this we can't do anything for it and they left how it is leaking and carpet wet l had to put towels on top of the carpet and today I got to my room I saw like 3 crickets on the carpet and I went to the front desk told him I saw these in the room he was shocked and said I don't know where these came from and didn't nothing about it Of course it will be crickets all over the place coz it's its dirty and not clean And some lights are not working in the room and the shower its not that good Don't waste your money staying in this hotel

Great only their payment system at from desk do not accept union pay debit cards. This to me is unacceptable

I sincerely enjoyed my stay there, from the check in greeting by Elizabeth, to check out by Penny, and due to last minute travel changes rush, I left my work laptop in my room, and Edas (spelling?) was so kind to arrange for FedEx overnight to make sure I got my laptop safely. What a great experience, clean rooms, great view and lots of local restaurants withing 2-3 min walk. Thank you.

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. After an unfortunate incident at another hotel, I made reservations for a bus full of kids and arrived 45 minutes later. The front desk had our keys, breakfast tickets and rooms already sorted and ready to go. AMAZING customer service. The rooms were clean and comfortable; the pool area was amazingly clean, and they even had nice picnic tables in the courtyard so we could eat outside. We definitely will be back.

On the positive side of the ledger: * the king-size bed was comfortable * the sliding door allowed fresh air * the shower was nice (after camping for a week) On the negative side: * the hotel could use an attentive manager to keep common spaces clean * peeling paint and door panels in bathroom * stained furniture in bedroom * corroded light fixtures * the sliding door was barely operable * the door to the fridge was damaged

My company Amazing Art Expo did a Disney, Star Wars, Anime art event at the Holiday Inn Midtown the weekend of Feb 1-3rd and my staff and I stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. I want to first state, the rooms were incredibly clean, comfortable and the beds were very comfortable to a point where I slept better here than I do in my regular bed at home. The parking was plentiful and free and my staff and I felt safe with the surroundings that each night we walked to a restaurant without any worries. In first contacting the hotel about a month prior to the event, I spoke to Angie Mitschke who took the time to go over potential dates and respecting my budgetary needs, Angie worked extensively with me to accommodate our budget and reserve the ballrooms for us. I then proceeded to communicate with Mayra Lopez. Mayra was very adamant about making certain our room setup fit our expectations and her communication with me was outstanding. Despite our move-in date scheduled for Friday morning, Feb 1st, I requested at the last minute if we could unload the merchandise in our truck on Thursday afternoon in order to save time. Mayra and Angie both made this possible which gave us much more time to set up on Friday. This was a very nice add on and was greatly appreciated. The ballroom setup person (unfortunately I forgot his name) often checked in with us to see if we needed any service. Needless to say, the staff went above and beyond expectations. I highly recommend this hotel and I plan to do future business with them.

Midtown? BAH!! You can see where the city in the attached picture from my room. It was at quite a few miles from downtown Austin. Old outdated rooms and furniture. The bathroom fan didn't work so any showers steamed up everything. The patio door was pathetically worn so it was difficult to open. The ceilings in the bathroom were terribly spackled and left that way. We had fiends stay in the hotel and they got free breakfast passes and we didn't. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy as we were warned my a nice trooper who we spoke to. Kind of disappointing since I am a longtime IHG member. We will be staying elsewhere next time.

Avoid this hotel. The pictures online do not look like the hotel in person. Area had several businesses boarded up. I checked in and walked into room. The door did not shut, balcony had a lighter on the ledge and there were no towels. I don't think the room had been cleaned. I went back downstairs and told them I was not staying due to safety concerns. They cancelled my room and as I waited for my Uber 2 police officers showed up to the hotel.

We stayed two nights for a conference and had a wonderful handicap accessible room with a king bed. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We had an issue in the bathroom when we first checked in, but housekeepers took care of it immediately. We had dinner at the bar and the buffalo wings were very good and large. We took our quesadillas to the room for later, but discovered there was no microwave in the room. The bar tender was the server and he was very friendly and helpful. The only issue we had was trying to keep the room from being too hot or too cold. The conference catering staff worked very hard and the food was good and plentiful. I would recommend this hotel.
