King Hotel Tenterden

Close to Benenden hospital and the town of Tenderden. Clean and nicely presented rooms. Staff were friendly at check in. Just off the mainroad with easy on site parking. Very good value for money. Did not eat there but there is an Indian restaurant on site.

Looking for an hotel close to Benenden hospital, came across this on a search of the area. We were amazed at this hotel from original visit to book to staying last night. We booked a fully inclusive double room with dinner and breakfast included. Nothing was too much trouble from assigning a ground floor room to a slightly earlier breakfast time. One point which stood out for us was the cleanliness of everywhere, marble floors and walls shone. All hotel linen was first rate. Dinner last night was perfect, amazing flavours and perfect balance of spices. Breakfast this morning was very good, great coffee and a cooked meal with toast. The staff went out of their way to provide terrific service. The owner should be proud of them, first class. We hope to return especially for a tribute night.

We appreciated the 2pm check in and arrived shortly after. We were welcomed by the hostess who explained about dinner (promoting restaurant next door) and about breakfast. The accommodation reminded us of one we may have seen from the ‘Four in the Bed’ tv show. Some rooms are located near main desk so heard a few noises from people walking but not a great deal. Once in the room, it is small, not much wiggle room. I was pleasantly surprised on the décor for the price you pay. Beautifully decorated. There were standard sizes towels (one did have a stain on it) but nice room. Bathroom was nice. The description says it provides toiletries, I’d bring your own as it’s a tube of body wash. We had 2 tubes, that had been opened and used by prior guests I’m assuming. The toilet did have a brown mark in the bowl but this went away with a flush. The shower could do with grouting , where some of the mould is. The bathroom is on small size. But for £100, this is what you get. The restaurant smelt lovely and was very busy popular so booking ahead is advised.

Excellent. Staff exceptionally friendly and accommodating. If thinking of booking ring direct first as they offer fair prices. Away from the town so you would need to drive if you want to venture out be we ate in the restaurant and would highly recommend. Food is authentic. We will definitely return when next in the area.

Hotel was very clean and well maintained. Room had a sloping ceiling so half the time we were walking crouched over. Breakfast was disappointing. No choice at all, it's an "English Breakfast" or nothing, but even that was missing the bacon. They then followed us out to make sure we paid for it, rather than settling it at check out.

This hotel is gorgeous, super friendly staff. All the rooms have air con, huge showers, comfy beds and smart tvs The added bonus is the contemporary Indian restaurant attached to the hotel. All in all a great stay at a very reasonable price. It's very easy to find and modern and ultra clean.

This is one of the nicest hotels ive stayed in, especially for the price. The reception staff were lovely, the hotel room was the CLEANEST ever (literally like a show room) it was cosy and just the best stay. No isses what so ever. Tea/coffee provided in the room as well as toiletries etc all the usual stuff! The TV was a smart TV so that was good and the wifi had great connection. The bed was super comfy just an all round amazing stay!!!

Never stayed here before although have dined in the restaurant before. First impressions were visually more like a Motel than a Hotel, but very clean and obviously fairly new with a spacious, gravelled car park. You enter into a very clean looking reception area with polished tile floors. Upon arriving (As has been mentioned in a previous review) we were met by an empty reception desk but were soon greeted by a member of staff and fairly quickly escorted to our room. I should point out that all the staff we encountered were very polite and accommodating. Our room was top floor at the back of the Hotel and was quite spacious and, again, clean and tidy with tea and coffee making facilities, AND a small fridge (Which made “She who must be obeyed” very happy) Shower was small (for me anyway) but more than adequate and the bed was very comfortable. We didn’t have any major gripes at all to be honest just minor niggles such as the sink plug wouldn’t stay down so we couldn’t fill the sink (I didn’t report it until we were leaving as I’d got so used to it…sorry) the only real issue is the sound from the water pipes when they’re in use around the Hotel by residents or possibly laundry? They are seriously loud tbh, especially at 02:00-03:00 in the morning (it woke me up and the noises suggested it may have been laundry?) This all said we enjoyed our stay, the staff as said earlier were very polite and accommodating and the place is well situated for a lot of sightseeing. We would certainly stop again

Had an operation booked for the 9/5/24 and live quite a long way from Benenden hospital so decided to stay in a hotel close to the hospital which was the King Hotel. On arriving the car park was unmade with lots of puddles & trip hazards, on entering the room it didn't look too bad although a little update wouldn't have gone amiss, we tried to put the heating on, it didn't come so I went to reception & the guy came to try & resolve it, he couldn't so he brought in a small radiator heater, he came back again & managed to get it on (not a good start) the walls were so thin, next door had the tv on & were talking really loud I could not sleep so went next door (by now 12.45) no light outside door & scrapped my ankle down the concrete step, I asked them politely if they could be more quiet, they did turn the tv down but it was still loud & I never slept a wink, in the morning, the shower was cold. Had to go to the hospital & an operation, tired & cold. Bed was hard, only one pillow. Not impressed, would have relayed this to the staff but could not find anyone in the morning even though kept pressing the bell, so left the key on the bed. A bad experience!
