I stayed in Korona house for almost a week with my adult daughter in February both before and after a safari along the northers circuit. Korona house (and the adjacent property Korona Villa) are two large villas with about half a dozen guest rooms each, located in the outskirts of Arusha. The room interior is simply, but tastefully furnished in African style, the filling buffet breakfast (omlet to order, pancakes, peanut butter, honey, fruit, toast) is in an adjacent building or under a canopy roof in the courtyard. Everything is perfectly clean and in good working order (showers, hot water, etc..). The staff is exceptionally helpful and kind, we spend almost a week at the place and after a day or two we felt more like family than paying guests. Korona house has more the charm and feel of a homestay than a hotel. The only (slight) downside is the distance from the city centre, which requires transport of some kind. We used the public transport (dala dala), which passes right in front of the house. Once you get the hang of these minibuses (and are not afraid of sharing it with up to 15 or 20 other riders), the distance is not a problem (there is a bus every few minutes, they will stop right in front of you if you wave your hand). The Hotel serves food in the evening a la carte which is good, but we found it not quite as exceptional as some of the other reviewers have written; maybe the kitchen was a bit limited because we were the only guests most of the time (certainly Covid related). Overall I would highly recommend Korona House, in particular if one is looking more for a charming and homely stay rather than a more standard hotel experience with lots of features but little soul.
