Cavos Bay Hotel & Studios

Cavos bay hotel in Ikaria is great. We booked a larger room for 3 people and the room was very modern with a small kitchen. We also had our own terrace overlooking the sea. The hotel is very clean, the receptionists are very friendly. The breakfast we did not like (the stuff was always finished and there were mostly just toast and cakes/cookies, the coffee was really horrible), but on the same street just a few meters further up, is a great coffee shop, where we enjoyed great breakfast every morning. The location is very good, but the car parking is an issue, which seems to be an issue on the complete island. In the evening all the streets are full of cars on both sides, but it is just a question of getting used to it.

Cavos Bay’s location in Armenistis is perfect. Beautiful views of Aegean Sea. Way from the airport was going up and down the hills and around hour and a half. Beautiful scenery all the way. We were greeted by Marina who had a beautiful smile. Our room was upgraded to a studio room. I was travelling with my daughter. We had big varanda with a sun lounge chair, table and chairs overlooking the swimming pool and the sea. Sonia was very helpful during breakfast time and cleaning. Very polite and hard working. Location is good as you can walk up to the town for your meals, shops etc. we enjoyed going to Mary Mary restaurant. There was a coffee shop like 3 mins walk on the left - Mikro they made lovely frappes and cakes. The owners were very kind. We went there everyday. When we were there we had group of ladies who had come there for yoga retreat from UK. For sandy beach you had to walk towards the town. We went there as we knew it was blue zone island and very peaceful and beautiful. Everyone on the island was very helpful.

This is a really good hotel for the price we paid we would totally recommend staying here to anyone. Nestled on the edge of Armenistis, it has sweeping views over the town and beaches. We were upgraded to a sea view, not a partial sea view originally booked which gave breathtaking views. If you do have a partial sea view, it isn’t bad but the balcony looked quite small. The terraces are very close to each other so privacy is at a minimum. The only noise we experienced from other guests were people loudly shouting and laughing as they walked past in the corridors rather than any noisy neighbours. The room is definitely not big, but the bed was actually quite large, wardrobe and safe plus a separate bathroom. Again this is not big and the water did leak quite a lot from the shower. Room cleaning was really good, left us lots of fresh towels and came daily which was lovely, I don’t think we had our shampoo/shower gels topped up but we did go to go buy our own ones anyway as we wanted a higher quality. Lift available which was a godsend with all the luggage. There is a small car park but it does involve a steep climb up and down on slippery slate. We parked at street street level, again a few spaces but you can just park on the road easily but beware they do give tickets out sometimes we heard. Very beautiful all around the hotel, very helpful reception team and everyone is happy to help you. The pool area is nice, quite nippy in the pools but this was September. You do need to get your own sunbed mattress and there are no towels available. There didn’t appear to have a pool bar neither, so you needed to go in to reception area for that. My only grip at this hotel was breakfast, where there were far too many flies and wasps making the experience unappealing as a majority of the breakfast items were uncovered (I would say the breakfast room needed some smartening up too to match the standard of the rooms). So we crossed over the road and had breakfast in the inexpensive coffee shop. That being said, wonderful hotel with great views and super easy to walk in to town within a few minutes.

Came here not really knowing what to expect. My concerns were allayed when we arrived after a 90 minute taxi ride from the Ikaria airport. The hotel looks out over the Aegean sea( make sure you get a sea view) and the rooms are satisfactory but not 5 star. The hotel supplies an a la carte breakfast but no dinner. It isn’t a problem as there are so many restaurants near by. The staff here are very helpful and speak good English. If you want a Mediterranean holiday without the tourists then come here. Clear Mediterranean water, fantastic weather and wonderful Greek food. I would probably recommend getting the ferry here if you’re not in a hurry as it’s far more convenient.

We loved this beautiful hotel. With an outlook over the Aegean its position is superb The rooms are spacious modern clean and each has its own veranda. I truly believe it’s the best at Armenistis and probably in Ikaria. The island was a beautiful surprise and so was this hotel.
