Monastero Arx Vivendi

Super hotel and service is in top. Even the hosts are helping out making the experience at the hotel to the best, we can find. Our preferred place to relax. Only thing you have to be aware of that smoking is allowed outside and at the poolside but didnt bother us but anyhow - seems out of time..

I loved staying at Monastero Arx Vivendi, this place is just my style. Haute Hygge at it's finest, I spent 5 days in the well-appointed Hortus Suite. The private tub was especially relaxing, and the garden with attached Finnish Spa really made this the room to spoil yourself with. Lots of unobtrusive modern upgrades including a luxurious rain shower, high end fixtures, and soft air conditioning with temperature readings in both Celsius and Fahrenheit...nice touch guys. I had a very good sports massage onsite, and loved reading in the spa room on the swinging beds. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, and there were really nice bar beverage options. I also really got a kick out of watching the parasailers flying overhead from the pool. Everyone I interacted with provided exceptional service with a friendly smile. Finally, I rented a bike from the hotel, and was provided with a scenic route through the Alps down to the Lake. It was breathtaking. I also booked a private boat ride via one of the flyers the hotel laid out with Tour Boat Experience. Captain Roberto was so fun, and knowledgeable about the local history. Monastero was everything I hoped it would be, and the pictures are representative. It really is that beautiful.

We stumbled over this hotel while searching for accommodation near lake Garda and where a little apprehensive booking it. It is located in the town of Arco hidden away behind high walls … it was / is a Monastery. When you enter through the main door you step into a different world !! Peace, calm and quiet ! There is public parking outside which I guess is ok when u only have hand luggage … bigger suitcases definitely use their underground car park. Which even smelled good. We had a room on the 2nd floor and did find it a bit challenging with two large suitcases, we had to leave them on the floor and had to step over them. The bed was great and the shower excellent ! The room is a little dark for my liking and prob would book the 1st floor next time. Bigger windows! Spa, sauna, pool just wonderful and tranquil!!! Loved the smell in the spa ! The garden is very nice. Food and drinks are fine !! If you need a few days just to wind down and relax - definitely the place to go.

Very nice Hotel in an old Monastery. Nice location, but also a few problems. During our stay, there was a group of 10-15 people at the restaurant and next day at the pool.. drinking and celebrating. Together with the crying babies, we could not find the quiet monastery and SPA spirit. Further, they have only a few sunbeds with mattress (and more sunbeds without). So, people reserve their sunbeds early in the morning similar as in Mallorca. Finally, the service could be more attentive. When we checked in (two men), we got a male and a female bathrobe/ slippers. Not sure why. The staff is very friendly!

This beautifully restored monastery is a tranquil and relaxing place to stay. Based next to the lovely town of Arco, it is just far enough from Lake Garda to escape the crowds. The room we stayed in was small but cleverly designed. It had one of the best showers I have even been in. The pool and grounds are absolutely lovely. We had massages in the spa which were first class. The breakfast was very good. The staff were all friendly and quietly efficient. It is about a 10/15 min walk into Arco where there are a number of restaurants and shops (especially if you like sporting goods!). The hotel also recommends some good restaurants a short drive away. We climbed the hill to Arco Castle which is definitely worth doing. Would highly recommend the Monastero for a relaxing and luxurious break.

What a wonderful surprise! My wife thought this place sounded interesting as a re-done 15th century monastery, she was too conservative. Manuel and his wife have created an awesome place to spend some quiet, quality time. The renovation is first class with beautiful grounds, comfortable rooms and an perfect location in Arco. Beautiful pool, spa and a wonderful staff willing to meet your every need.
