Nature Lodge

Wow! We absolutely loved our stay here as a family of three with a 10 year old. The lodges are spacious and well set up with a beautiful deck. Our only comment is that it would be nice to have more comfortable seating on the deck to enjoy that view! Stunning views out towards the ocean. Lovely restaurant area with beautiful breakfast and delicious dinners. They catered well to my son, and to my husband who arrived with food poisoning from Tana and needed some plain food! The staff are very friendly, helpful and accommodating. This is a great place to base yourself for exploring Amber Mountain. We would definitely recommend.

We stayed here for 2 nights (22-24 october) and wished we could have stayed longer. The Lodge is located perfected in the Ambre mountains with a magnificent view over the mountains and over the bay of Diego Suarez. The lodge is also close to the parc entrance. There is no swimming pool at the lodge but we didn't miss it. The lodge has a big main building with a bar and restaurant with a terrace and just over 10 bungalows. We were in bungalow 10 with a nice view over the mountains some other bungalows has more a view over the bay. It is a wooden bungalow and the bungalow is beautiful and clean with a nice bathroom and a separate toilet. You also have a terrace with 2 not to comfortable seats but a beautiful view. The restaurant has a great terrace and also inside it is really beautiful. Breakfast is served at your table and is okay unfortunately we had no eggs. Lunch and dinner is a set menu with 2 or 3 choices for each course. They like it if you pre order your dinner. We liked the food over here.

What a fabulous place! We really liked the bungalows, they were comfortable and spacious, the food was very tasty, it’s an excellent location with lovely views. We traveled for five weeks in Madagascar and this was our favorite stay. Very convenient to Amber Mountain, which has good walking and animal viewing. The nearby village is also an interesting place to see — we went to lunch there and then had an easy walk back to Nature Lodge.

I'm not even sure where to begin, as this place is an absolutely magical little oasis, and words won't do justice to how incredible this place truly is! Let me first say that as a Tour Operator myself, and having been to 155 countries on earth, this is one of the most awesome and unique places I've ever stayed at! The management there, starting with Natalie, was extremely responsive and helpful throughout the entire booking process. She arranged transportation for us each day, including airport transfers (roughly 45 min to the lodge). On arrival, we were greeted by the on-site manager Nathan, who made us feel right at home! The place itself is perched up on the hill, with breathtaking sunsets, outstanding amenities, and dedicated staff members! The room was an absolute little gem, with electricity, hot water, and stunning views of the mountains (bungalow 12). The bed was firm but comfortable. We truly enjoyed lounging on our patio chairs each day! We had our 3 meals there each day, and they had a great variety of food options to choose from. Breakfast was made of fresh fruits, yogurt, pastries, juices, and great coffee. Lunch and dinner had various dish options, including seafood, vegetarian, zebu, and chicken. For the most part, each meal was very good, though hit or miss here and there. Again, this isn't the Ritz Carlton, so set your expectations for meals. The property is absolutely beautiful and well manicured. The main lodge has an African Safari feel to it, with very westernized and modern amenities. They even have a bar with a great selection to choose from. But what really made this stay for us was the dedicated staff. We can't thank Nathan, Tcherina, Hery, Thomas, and Sylvestre (Mr. Arraigné) for such amazing hospitality! Nous vous apprecions vraiment beaucoup!

We had two nights in the Nature Lodge and it was the best place we stayed in our 3 week trip. It is very calm and peaceful, the gardens are lovely, and the views superb. The chalets are well equipped and comfortable. We enjoyed excellent cocktails on the veranda and our vegetarian meals exceeded expectations. All the staff manage to mix friendliness with efficiency so the service was great. We were even able to request Malagasy music to be played whilst dining. They also accept credit cards so we could enjoy the luxury of a bottle of wine. We experienced the Amber Mountains and the Red Tsingy whilst staying here, both are well worth a visit. Nature Lodge, just out of the village Joffreville, is perhaps mostly chosen because of its great location at the border of Amber Mountain National Park. But the high level of hospitality you find here, could make you doubt between a ‘walk in the park’ and getting the royal treatment at your lodge. The beautiful wooden lodges with leaf roofs are spread around the borders of a well maintained park, where you can find species of wildlife at your doorstep. Stunning green Gekko’s accompany you everywhere (be happy with it, they eat the bugs!), but you can also be surprised by a beautiful Panther Chameleon in the trees at night. The lodges are tastefully decorated and have king size double beds with mosquitoetents all around. A spacious bathroom is included, as well as a big terrace with a stunning view at Amber Mountain, the Indian Ocean and the lagoons at Diego Suarez. The whole setup is eco friendly, with electricity from solar panels, water from An own source and hot water also with solar heating. And this is just about the scenery and the splendid accommodation. What really makes this place perfect, is the magnificent staff. From the friendly reception to the attention you get by every need you might have - the management and the staff are kind and there to make your stay unforgettable. And did I say the restaurant is top notch? They have great choices on the menu and are always willing to adjust to your preferences.
