We are currently staying here for surgery at University of Michigan. Something to note (and it shows) Richard Porco is no longer the GM here. Service is lackluster at best. We relied on reviews that mentioned how caring the staff was about patients here for surgery. That is emphatically no longer the case. 1. Housekeeping - even though when checking in on the app it states service every other day, when I asked for service 2 days after so that the room would be clean after my wife returns from service, I was told it’s done every 3 days and there’s a sign at front desk. Seriously didn’t have empathy regarding the surgery. I had to argue to request the service and we shall see if it happens tomorrow. 2. Maintenance - dishwasher rack was rusty so we requested a replacement since we needed to wash dishes immediately as many were left dirty on shelf or in silverware drawer. After 3 calls, they eventually replaced with a less rusty rack. Didn’t bother to let them know one tv remote won’t work and glass is falling on the kitchen cupboard. 3. Staff - must be highly understaffed. Everyone you talk to just sounds like they don’t want to be here and customer service is unimportant. Even the GM when I called for hangars and dishwasher, sounded rushed and wanted me off the phone quickly. So very disappointing as we’ll be here 1 week post surgery for my wife to recover. We’ll have to make the best of it.
