Anaxos Garden

Recently had a lovely weeks stay at Anaxos Gardens. Family of 4 (children 7&9years). Our first time to Lesvos but we’ve been to a number of Greek islands before. The accommodation suited us perfectly. We were expecting just one room but we had an apartment with 2 sofa bed type single beds and an additional bedroom with a double bed in. Basic (as we always expect on our self-catering Greek holidays) but everything we needed in the room. Room was kept clean, bins and towels changed regularly. The only thing that was missing was a tea towel and a dustpan and brush so we could have swept the patio floor if any food was dropped. Air con was brilliant (I think we paid around €49 for this when we arrived for the week)-I think some of the other apartments have slightly older models of air con that didn’t work as well as ours. The apartments are set out in a few blocks and there are lovely plants and trees around that make the setting beautiful. Pool clean and we always got a sunbed whatever time of day we turned up. Pool bar reasonably priced and serve a lovely gyros for only a few euros! Location is ideal- Supermarkets, plenty of tavernas and beach all a short walk away. The nearby beach is coarse sand, lots of bars and tavernas along the beach that have sun beds you can use if you are buying drinks/food from them. If it’s not cloudy you can sit at one of the tavernas to watch the sunset. All the food and drinks seem just a little cheaper than in the other areas of Greece we have recently visited. We used the street train one day to explore a bit further afield, we also took a pedalo boat out a couple of days which our kids loved. There were a few more water sports available from the stall on the beach as well. There were a few people staying at Anaxos gardens who have been coming repeatedly for years which shows how highly both the apartments and the area are rated by those who visit! We had a great family holiday, feel we struck lucky as it was exactly what we hoped and more!

Clean and sufficient for a budget holiday. Demetri was especially helpful when I had to pester him each time I had a problem. He also does a lovely BBQ on Sundays. Well kept pool. Best thing about the area is the Village Train that picks up outside the Malibu Restaurant and takes you to Petra and Molyvos.

Just got home after a three week stay. This place is great. Rooms are spotless, as is the whole place. Friendly owners and a great BBQ on the Sunday. Short walk to the beach Been there four times now and have already booked three weeks next June! Highly recommended.

On arriving at the hotel it wasn't obvious where reception was so we entered the bar area. We were greeted by a lady, she didn't smile or welcome us, she just asked for our surname and lead us to our room. Not the most welcoming start to our holiday. However the room itself was perfect. Very clean, comfy beds, balcony overlooking the pool. No complaints at all with the room. Was a 5 min walk to supermarket and the beach, location was perfect. We didn't stay round the pool as much prefer the beach but it was a lovely looking pool area and popular with guests. Aircon was only €7 per day which is very reasonable, and a new aircon unit by the look of it. Would definitely stay here again despite the lack of warmth from the owners!

This place just gets better every year whether newcomers or re - visitors a warm welcome is assured clean pool fab seating area and food is lovely and drinks a plenty we had a lovely 3 weeks and look forward to our next visit in August 2024 for 3 weeks

OK so to start, arrival was poor, given no reception. Woman behind the bar just gave us a key and walked us to our room. The room itself was basic but expected as standard greece. Bad thing was the small bed for our son, would have been softer if he lay on the floor. Aircon cheap but rattles during the night. Bathroom OK but surely a shower tray is better (most other hotels have done this) cleaned every other day but a couple of times the bedding was left . Staff were miserable barring 2 ladies and only seemed interested of you're a repeat customer or Dutch. Pool was OK never too packed but maybe calm down with the chemicals they use as my son got a rash. Area itself is OK close enough to the beach 3 markets and restaurants on either the front (recommend tropicana/malibu) or on the road (recommend Sarandos) anaxos itself not a lot going on other than the beach so petra or molivos is better. Bit more effort from staff is needed to catch up with other greek hotels known for their friendliness
