Supper Hotel

My partner and I had a fantastic time at Supper hotel. We arrived in Amsterdam at about 11am and walked very easily from the central train station to the hotel. The walk is only 15 to 20 mins and is very direct and easy to find. As we arrived early we were able to drop our bags off as our room was not available until 3pm (which is when check in usually is). On walking into the hotel there is a bar, we were offered drinks every time we walked past which was nice, and flavoured water freely available. At check in we were taken to our room and shown around. We had a ‘La Neige’ room, which was on the 2nd floor, with a window view of the canal. The room had aircon (definitely needed in August!), mood lighting with a controller so you could pick the light colour in the bedroom and bathroom (a lot of fun and very cool!). Double bed was very comfortable with two fluffy pillows each. There was an open wardrobe for you to hang and fold clothing. The sink is situated in the bedroom and not in the bathroom area. There were hair products and soap- a helpful touch. There is no tv in the room but a projector which you can connect your devices to, we had BBC1 and 2 on as well as Netflix and YouTube - we loved this feature to the room. The only odd thing about the room was the shower/toilet area is very voyeristic. There is no wall between the bedroom and the shower except some tinted glass - this meant your partner can see you showering and if laying at a particular angle the toilet. Holidaying with my partner we found this hysterical particularly when messing around with the lighting whilst the other is in the shower. For those not too keen on this feature there is a curtain for the shower….but not the toilet….. Something important to take into account! The stairs are incredibly steep,like INCREDIBLY steep. You need to take this into account if you have mobility issues, the design and shape of the building is clearly original thus this needs to be taken into consideration when booking. Having read previous reviews I was slightly worried about the noisiness and cleanliness - I needn’t have worried, the room was very clean, the hotel was very clean and we weren’t bothered by any sound at all. Overall, my partner and I had a wonderful time, would highly recommend and would book again!
