I am absolutely appalled by my experience at Hotel One Earth in Amritsar. We traveled all the way from Australia, hoping for a pleasant stay, only to be met with a level of accommodation that was completely unacceptable. Despite booking our rooms well in advance (at least 3 weeks), the reality was shocking and far from what was advertised. The hotel is old, dusty, and reeks of neglect. The carpets are filthy, the place smells musty, and it felt like we had been deceived and completely cheated by the condition of the hotel. We booked four rooms for our large family, and after a delayed flight, we arrived exhausted around 10:30 PM. What we found upon entering our rooms was beyond disappointing—it was unbearable. When I requested a change of room, the night receptionist was unaccommodating and dismissive. We had to argue for over an hour before finally being offered a room we could sleep in. Initially, we were assigned a family room, two Executive Queen rooms (one of which wasn’t even cleaned when we opened the door), and an Executive King room. The Executive Queen room was ridiculously small, with a filthy, unkempt bathroom. We had to request a change. The second Executive Queen room, located on the first floor, was so bad, smelly, and poorly maintained that we had to get it upgraded as well. The conditions were the worst I’ve ever encountered. The rooms were dusty, the linen wasn’t changed, and we found hair on the sheets. The glasses in the room were filthy, and we couldn’t even use them. The kettle had dried tea leaves inside when handed over. It was clear that no effort had been made to maintain any standard of cleanliness or comfort. The dining area in the basement was equally atrocious. There was no ventilation, and it was smoky and unbearable to sit there for more than 20 minutes. The food was downright terrible. This place doesn’t even meet basic standards, let alone offer any sort of pleasant dining experience. The kitchen utensils used for the buffet in the common dining area were old, non-stick vessels that were almost completely scratched off, clearly from years of using metal utensils. It’s completely unacceptable that a hotel would provide such worn-out kitchen equipment that poses potential health risks. I cannot fathom how this is deemed acceptable. To make matters even worse, the manager, Palash, who I had made the reservation with, was completely helpless in addressing the issue. He claimed that the rooms were misallocated by the staff, even though he had correctly assigned the rooms himself. This was infuriating, especially considering the horrific conditions of the rooms. I had paid a premium price during the holiday season, expecting a comfortable and clean stay, only to be met with a nightmare. I am beyond disappointed by this hotel. It was the worst accommodation I’ve ever encountered, and I cannot fathom how this place is even considered acceptable for guests. If you are seeking a place with comfort and quality, do no
