Several years have elapsed (and Covid) since our last visit to the Mercure Cathéderale hotel in Amiens. Apart from being a fantastic hotel in an equally fantastic location, our prime reasons for returning were a) the excellent crêperies, b) the Hortillonnages waterways and c) the Macarons d’Amiens (Jean Trogneux). Being centrally located, one of the very useful features was the proximity of the underground car park in rue des Huchers. We paid €29 for a 7-day ticket which was exceptional value. Reception staff (Célestine, Olga & Adam) were very friendly and helpful on arrival as well as during our four-day stay. The hotel reservation was made directly on the Accor web site (membership benefits) and breakfast was included in the price. Breakfast was a delight - literally was everything you could wish for, and more. Amiens is a beautiful city with lots of “must-see” attractions – we had previously been to the Maison de Jules Verne (excellent) as well as the Hortillonnages, but always good for a return visit. This time we did some prior research regarding the local Amétis bus service and routes with the intention of visiting the tomb of Jules Verne in the Cimetière de la Madeleine as well as the Zoo d'Amiens. Armed with the timetables for each route we traversed the city with ease. Each day we spent just over £5 on bus fares (two persons and two journeys). Both venues were equally impressive. Returning to my own car on departure one has to be aware of the rather strange priorities in town/city centres, such that cars travelling on what would appear to be a side-road have priority over those on the main road (priorité à droite). The image I attached shows the Audi car leaving the underground car park and having priority over the traffic on the main road (rue Flatters). Bit bizarre, but worth being aware of. If you are thinking of visiting Amiens in the Autumn be aware of the impressive son-et-lumière display at the Cathédrale Notre-Dame which is usually around Sept-Nov time. An evening well worth spending in the centre of Amiens.

Offering a garden and garden view, Comme une parenthèse au coeur des hortillonnages is located in Amiens, 2.3 km from Amiens Train Station and 5.5 km from Zénith d'Amiens. It is set 2 km from The Floating gardens Park and provides bicycle parking. There is a barbecue and guests can make use of free WiFi, free private parking and an electric vehicle charging station. The guest house provides guests with a terrace, river views, a seating area, a TV, a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and an oven, and a private bathroom with shower. A microwave, a toaster and fridge are also provided, as well as a coffee machine and a kettle. At the guest house, each unit is equipped with bed linen and towels. The area is popular for cycling and fishing, and free use of bicycles is available at this 4-star guest house. Canoeing can be enjoyed nearby. Berny's Museum is 3.8 km from the guest house, while Tribunal de Grande Instance of Amiens is 2.6 km away. Beauvais–Tillé Airport is 67 km from the property.

Muy agradables y buena atención hacia el cliente, sí recomendaría, céntrico con buenas visitas hacía los canales, paseos y buenos restaurantes, total buen sitio para viajes, que sean de negocios, ocio ó estudios.

El desayuno tiene pan, fruta y verduras, ningún horno, champán o huevos de mesa. El entorno es difícil de decir. A la estación de tren, incluso durante la cena, hay un número considerable de personas desaparecidas. Durante la estancia, hay personas que se sienten en las escaleras de la puerta del hotel todos los días, y se siente muy diferente de la zona segura y limpia de la ciudad. La cama en la habitación es mayoritariamente, el pasillo es más estrecho, no hay escritorio ni nada como una mesa que pueda poner un laptop. No hay nada de luz en la puerta sin la tarjeta de habitación, y se cae en la tierra cuando vuelve a la habitación para recoger sus maletas. En resumen, las instalaciones y el entorno no son ideales.

Todo era de excelente calidad, la recepción del personal, los servicios la convivialidad (pizza y cerveza frente al partido de cupa del mundo en la sala común muy agradable) El desayuno era también excelente y variado. El único bemol era un problema con la ducha que se movía por todas partes en el baño y una ventilación que parecía no funcionar si no todo el resto era perfecto

We rented a family room (C 202) which was more an apartment with 2 adjacent rooms separated by a door, a kitchen ( coffee /tea facilities;cutlery...).Brand new building. Very clean. Tasteful, modern solid furniture. Spacious bathroom with a large step-in shower. Friendly receptionists. Good breakfast buffet:ample choice ( fruit, egg, charcuterie, cheese,different bread kinds..) Late check out at 12 (instead of 11 am or earlier in other hotels). Not far from Rouen centre. · Less positive: only 1 small wash stand in the bath room (for such a spacious place- regarding it may be used by up to 4 people) and few possibilities to place your toiletries. 1 TV set for both rooms (only French channels). Construction works in the area- so, it can get a little noisy in the morning. A bit difficult to find in this whole new site: after the hotel sign (not immediately visible from the road) directly turn right to the parking lot ( with barrier). It's the white building on your right- follow the winding path to the double glass door.

Logis La Chambre d’Amiens was easy to find by Satnav but is tucked away behind some trees on your right as you exit the roundabout. Parking is ample and good and check in was friendly, although I do wonder why Logis hotels still require guests to fill out a lengthy booking-in document when they should already have the details on line via your booking. The hotel is an easy 20 minute stroll to the start of the town centre, but the riverside area of St Leu is another 10 minutes or so. Our room on the first floor (no 10) is of average size and with the minimal, but adequate storage space you tend to find in smaller hotel rooms. The en-suite is fine and has a good shower but, as it is of the walk-in variety, be prepared for a wet floor. The room also has a balcony with a couple of chairs, which is a bonus in hot weather. In any event, the hotel also has a rooftop terrace which is accessed via a small lounge on the first floor. Breakfast was a decent affair with fresh fruit, yogurts, cereals etc along with cold meats and cheeses; and you can also boil yourselves some eggs. There was also plenty of bread, pastries and cake. The coffee is from a machine but perfectly good. The one issue I’d raise about breakfast was the bowl of “fruit salad” which consisted mainly of strawberries that were either frozen for too long, or out of an ancient tin. Whatever the case, the fruit was soft and completely tasteless. My suggestion is that you either make a fresh fruit salad or use decent tinned fruit; but ditch these strawberries. Fortunately, there was also a bowl of stewed apples which were very good. We have had an enjoyable two days here, service throughout has been very good and we would certainly use this Logis again.

Hôtel très bien situé non loin de la cathédrale, le personnel est aux petits soins. Notre chambre étant située côté rue donc un peu de bruit...mais on est en ville !! Bémol pour la chambre l eau chaude qui est très très longue à arriver ... Je précise que cet hôtel ne possède pas d'ascenseur ni de climatisation. Le petit déjeuner buffet était parfait..sauf le fromage sous plastique Pas de parking donc parking souterrain plus économique que les parcmetres

La ubicación es muy buena, justo al lado de la estación de tren. El servicio de recepción también es muy bueno, ayudándonos a recoger agua caliente todos los días, y el desayuno también es bueno, pero la habitación es muy pequeña, se puede decir que es la habitación más pequeña del mundo, dos personas no pueden darse la vuelta. , y no puedo poner equipaje. La tía de la limpieza no entendía inglés y tenía dificultades para comunicarse. Durante dos días, no limpió la habitación en absoluto. ¡No volveré a reservar!

Desde 2005, he estado usando este hotel y se ha ido constantemente a la colina y ahora está bastante cansado y debida para una refrescación. En mi última visita (diciembre de 2021) el personal estaba totalmente desinteresado en escanear mi aplicación de covid francesa, algo que cada tabaco y restaurante hizo como una cuestión de naturalidad. El hotel se ha calentado a unos 26 grados y la única forma de dormir es girar el termóstat de la habitación y abrir la ventana. El bar fue desertado, deslumbrado y llevó tiempo para que un miembro del personal llegara, sólo para la cerveza única que se ofreció para salir.
