Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Serena Amboseli. The rooms were first rate and the staff was exceptional. All of our servers were great. Thanks to Meritei for accompanying us on a walk through the woods. And huge thanks to Chef Richard who cooked special gluten free meals for my wife. His kindness will not be forgotten. Like many places, no a/c in the room but with the overhead fan, the temperature at night was very comfortable. Very happy with our stay and with the phenomenal elephants of Amboseli.

Stopped here for one night as part of a week long safari. The standard rooms are in two long rows and we were located in room 10. We arrived for lunch before heading out for an afternoon game drive. The rooms here are lovely, each individually decorated in traditional colours with painted animals on the walls. There was plenty of storage space but like most, we were only here for one night. I would have like another but we were part of a week long safari tour and another lodge beckoned the following day. The room was clean and spacious. The only thing that didn't work well was the location of the fan, it was too far away from the bed to give any relief from the heat. We did have small USB fans which can be used with a power bank or via a plug with USB sections, so they provided some relief from the heat. The sockets in the room are same as the UK (although the sockets can accommodate other sizes but I cannot confirm what these are - you can see them on the picture of the bed). The door to the outside patio area is made of mesh (not glass). You also need to make sure the door is locked as the monkeys can and will make their way in. The Wi-Fi was good enough for our requirements. Staff were always visible and very helpful should you have any queries or problems. Dinner and breakfast times were much quieter than the previous 2 lodges. For breakfast, if you require toast, you need to ask for it - there is no toaster. Tea and coffee are also delivered to your table. The location of this lodge would be hard to beat and the views are great, especially if animals make an appearance. Outside our room, there were loads of vervet monkeys. We also had banded mongoose later in the day.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon, and we loved it! We stayed in the suite as a special honeymoon treat for ourselves, and it was a beautiful room. It had a huge full bathroom, a second half bathroom, a living room, and a bedroom. We also had our own private outdoor space and rooftop balcony where we had a great view of Mt. Kilimanjaro. As this hotel is open to wildlife, some of the chairs and hammock weren't totally clean to use. The hotel is also beautifully decorated, and we loved the spaces. We hoped to use the pool, but the water was a bit too cold. The other outdoor spaces are beautiful, though, and we loved seeing the monkeys around the hotel. The staff were all super friendly, even remembering us by name when we went to the restaurant. We enjoyed the food here, especially the pasta station. We sat by a window for some of our meals and there were a few flies coming in so we wouldn't recommend that spot. The rest of the restaurant was clean. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge! We stayed at another one of the Serena hotels during our stay and highly recommend this company.

A wonderful lodge with great view on the Kilimandscharo. The rooms was stylisch and pur African style. The people who take care of the visitors are extremely friendly and professionell, especically Jaqueline (rest manager) and Patricia (hostess). Will be back again soon.

We stayed for 2 nights and had an amazing time. The pool and grounds were beautiful. You can see elephants from the gardens, and one even came close to the boundary. The food here is amazing and the best of our tour, we saw lots of elephants, baboons, lions and a serval cat. The serena hotels never disappoint!
