The Strutt Arms

The premises is not called Strutt Arms and is above pub/restaurant called Elephant And Peacock. Our room was noisy above generators/fans and both of us wide awake at 5am because of noise. Clean rooms, bed comfortable, breakfast ok but could been bit more of the fry up?

Stayed here 1 night as good price £76 with breakfast. Staff were very friendly . Lots of parking outside . Got to our room which was big and nicely decorated, good tea tray and big fluffy towels but that's whete it ended We pulled back bed covers and got a shock , there were yellow stains in areas on the sheets, what locked a line of blood stains or worse as a browny red colour , pillow cases were also stained in several different places and lots of hairs in bed , disgusting. Went and told staff who came straight up and changed the covers, apologised for bed not being changed . They also gave us free drink and snacks . Staff dealt with it very professionally but by this time I was totally put off so can only give this place a low score . BreKfadt was good and tasty . Such a shame this happened on our stay .

Over night stay after visiting local Distillery. Great hotel with lovely bar and restaurant and great outside space to enjoy a relaxing drink after exploring the area. Meal was amazing and hotel room was extremely good value for money. Great nights sleep and lovely hot shower followed by a cooked breakfast.

I stayed here for two nights and found it easily. The hotel part is called The Strutt Arms and the restaurant is called The Elephant and Peacock. There was plenty of parking and we were shown to our room upstairs above the bar. We stayed in room 7 which was at the back. The room was big and overlooked a car park. There was some noise from the extracted fan or generator outside, but we couldn’t hear anything from inside. The bed was very comfortable and there was a big tv on the wall. There was a kettle with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and some biscuits. In the wardrobe there was ab iron and a hairdryer. The room was nicely decorated and had a fan for when it’s hot weather. The bathroom was also a decent size and the shower was powerful. Some small toiletries and hand soap were provided. I’ve given this hotel 5 stars, but I would have given 4.5 stars if I could. The reason for this is some areas of the room were not that clean. The lamp on the table and the bedside lamps were very dusty, as was the tv. There were black hairs in the shower and toothpaste splashes on the tiles around the sink. This didn’t affect our stay, but I know some people would be upset by this. Also the kettle still had some water in it. I would expect that the kettles would be emptied and be clean for the next guest. Despite this, we loved our stay. The staff were all friendly and it was a good base for exploring Derbyshire. The cooked breakfast was lovely, there was a choice of full English breakfast, veggie breakfast or pancakes with bacon and maple syrup. On our last day we arrived at breakfast quite late and the mushrooms had ran out. We were offered onion bhajis as a supplement. We loved them with our breakfast and throughly enjoyed our stay. We will definitely visit again and have already recommended to friends and family.

Excellent Hotel & Indian Restaurant - room was spacious with a very comfortable bed. Drinks in the garden prior to dinner (Happy Hour 4-6pm £3.00 a beer or glass of house wine) and dinner in the bar which has been beautifully refurbished. Indian restaurant attached to the hotel with very good authentic Indian food.

Booked this B&B for one night …..what a fabulous find. Truly a gem of a place. Beautifully decorated in a modern and contemporary style. Lots of thought going into making the visitor comfortable. Excellent bed. I would highly recommend this hotel and I will definitely be staying there again. Staff brilliant.

Stayed overnight here for a wedding nearby. Room was massive, very reasonably priced, good breakfast and very friendly and attentive staff. Stay was perfect for what we needed. Would stay again. Did the job! Very minor points - bed could have been bigger considering the size of the room, towels could have been larger too. Nothing luxurious but decent pub hotel for an overnight stay.

Firstly £75 I will put that again £75 Lovely welcome into a lively bar area, shown an immaculate clean room. Also very quiet, you couldn't hear a thing from downstairs. Very attentive staff throughout the stay, food in the restaurant was also excellent. And a perfectly cooked breakfast all served with a smile. We have stayed in a lot of places up and down the country and this is one of the best by far and can't believe it was £75 Keep up the good work ladies and gentlemen.

Lovely stay. I couldn’t fault our stay here. We booked last minute and the room Rate was very reasonable. The room was nicely decorated, comfy and quiet for a good nights sleep. The property also has the added bonus of the excellent Indian restaurant and pub downstairs. The food was amazing The breakfast was also very nice. Staff very friendly too. I would definitely return
