This was the worst Marriott branded hotel I have ever stayed at. The surrounding area is nice. The outside of the property looks nice but one can be fooled by the exterior. We checked in for a three-night stay and were put in a room that smelled like someone had been frying fish. After a few hours of trying to air out the room, we asked for a room change. This room was bigger and smelled fine. The trouble is these rooms are very dated and the mattresses are very hard. Thought all was well until we discovered cockroaches the next morning mulling around our personal hygiene items. Needless to say, we got the heck out of there as quickly as we could. Additionally I should note that a bag of garbage sat in our hallway the whole time we were there and one of the security locks was broken. Door was propped open with a mat. When I removed the mat I understood why—you couldn’t get in with your key. The price for a room in this area is quite cheap and now we know why.

I sincerely wish my first review was a great one but…. This was the first hotel I’ve ever walked out of and for health reasons I suggest others do the same. Smelling **** in the parking lot didn’t bother us but the MOLD in the room made us leave. When we explained why we were leaving the front desk receptionist said they would refund our room. Considering we were there no more than 15 min I will accept that as them knowing they have an issue. This is a Marriott property and I expect more from them. I wish I had read more reviews on this property. Two staff members we met were very professional but hotel rooms can be a health issue especially if there are mold allergies.

My son is a junior in college. He had a summer internship interview in Alpharetta and needed to stay overnight before the interview. I made a reservation at Towne Place Suites as it was close to the interview location. When I called to make sure my son's name was on the reservation I spoke with Charles at the front desk. Charles couldn't have been more helpful, friendly, and welcoming, assuring me that they would take good care of my son during his stay. They did just that. Charles and David were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. They made sure my son had everything he needed, wished him good luck on his interview before he left the hotel in the morning, and even made sure he had a snack for his ride back to the airport. They treated my son like family and for that, I am extremely thankful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel!

I stayed at this hotel for 13 nights in a 2-bedroom suite. I had stayed at this hotel for one night two years ago and thought I’d try it again for a longer stay. The best feature of the hotel is the location. It is in a quite area with minimal traffic. The room was clean and stocked but there were 14 maintenance issues, including one regarding smoke detectors that were unplugged, which I have written the hotel manager about. The other issues include sheets that were too small, living room too dark, sofa too hard and uncomfortable, and outside and room doors that slammed hard when they shut. I'm sorry but with all these issues, I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

I would stay here again if I was in the area and this was the most convenient choice, but… They are currently being refurbished. We were put into the newly re-done building (they were just finishing up the ground floor). The front desk warned us there might be some paint smell. That was true when we first entered the building, but our room itself had no odor. And, of course, everything looks great as a result of new paint, new carpet, etc. However, the changes appear to be only cosmetic: • The first day I took a shower, I had to stand ankle deep in water the whole time as the tub drained quite slowly. On the positive side, when I called the front desk to have the issue resolved, they sent someone out within about 10 minutes. He was able to fix the problem in another 10 minutes, and the drain worked fine the rest of the time we were there. • The stairs are uneven, with various dips that are hidden beneath the new, patterned carpet. To be fair, I also noticed this at other Fairfield Inns we have stayed in recently, but one might hope that renovations would include resolving something like that. • The task lighting above the desk worked the first time we used it. The second time it flicked and then didn’t come on. About 15 minutes later, all of a sudden, I noticed the bulbs were now lit. No idea why that happened. • The desk has two parts, one nested underneath the other to be pulled out. The part that moves has no wheels and is on carpet, so the only way to get it out is to drag this big heavy piece of furniture across the carpet. Then, of course, it was quite difficult to get it back underneath since pushing across carpet is even harder than pulling. • The thermostat is on the wall right next to the desk—nestled between the wall and the side of the desk itself, with just enough room to stick your hand in there to push buttons but not enough room to actually see clearly what you are doing. • The bathroom has only two towel bars—one directly above the toilet and so only usable with a hand towel (unless you want your bath towel draped over the toilet tank—seems unsanitary) and one too short for a single bath towel, let alone two. We ended up hanging towels to dry in the closet where they had to drape against the edges of a wire shelving unit, but that seemed cleaner than draping them against the toilet. And, for more general commentary on the hotel: Noise: The room/building were very quiet. We never heard any outdoor noise, nor any noise from neighbors. Temperature: The heating and cooling was okay. We didn’t notice any obnoxious noises during the day, but the first night I was awakened three separate times by a pulsing sound I couldn’t identify. Almost sounded like some sort of emergency noise except not blaringly loud. It turned out to be the cooling unit. After noticing it in the night and identifying the cause, I could hear it in the day as well. Breakfast: Breakfast was typical Marriott.

My husband and I had a great stay while visiting the area for a concert at Ameris. The hotel is clean and conveniently located to multiple dining options as well as the venue. Front desk staff friendly and helpful. We enjoyed relaxing at the pool before the show. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the area.
