The Georgian Guesthouse

Had a great overnight stay in this guest house in Alnwick Northumberland. The room was spotless and the bed comfortable. Yes it’s an old building so there was some marks around the shower etc but ultimately the place was clean all throughout the room and the property. The Georgian is in a great central location so you can make the most of the beautiful town of Alnwick. Would certainly recommend and hope to stay again. Thanks!

Very nice room central base and free parking round the corner wasn’t an issue. Only downside was had to buy own towels (ones there bath size not bath sheet size). If you were looking for somewhere convenient to stay this is the place. Very quiet area.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Georgian Guest house in York. It was centrally located just outside the old city walls and an easy walk to all attractions. The host was incredibly helpful and the room was very clean and comfortable. We would love to return here

We thought the room was lovely when we checked in, although we were a bit concerned at the serious lack of security to the building. When we were lying on the beds and chatting we were actually very shocked to see an awful lot of very dusty old cobwebs. Above the double bed and at the window, I got a towel to knock the ones off above the double bed and was really taken aback to see the top of the headboards was thick with old dust. The picture on walls have cobwebs around them too. I hadn’t looked at reviews on Trip Advisor before stay but the poor state of housekeeping made me look and I saw a post in 2021 & 2022 that referred to cobwebs. Whilst any homes can have them these are unacceptable with being there so long they are dust laden. I also feel your info needs to be clearer about what’s offered. I know it wasn’t expensive but for £25 more we could have been in the same set up, room only, superior standard and with better security than what we experienced at Georgian House Bed & NO breakfast. Pointless offering parking on site, 2 spaces with a tight alley access which you would have to reverse out of 😳 Direct complaint to owner has been ignored. Might be busy with a duster, who knows?

No people there to deal with room was.ok but the bathroom stank. Bed was extremely uncomfortable and there is only two car park spaces. Top it all off despiting not having breakfast I thought it may be an option. No offer of anything just a note telling you where to go for brekkie. Parking is free in a lot of places but have to go up a big hill to do so which is inconvenient especially if you suffer back problems. It's average at best for a base but if you want a good experience you'll be disappointed. Also the phantom people you never see invade your privacy by coming in your room every day and make beds etc. Unless you authorise that they should boy be coming in to personal things as we.had money in the room we had to hide as a result. Definitely go Alnwick as.its brilliant definitely don't go here to this b and b though as it's far from brilliant!

Well what can I say if you are a asthma suffer like me don't stay cobwebs and dust everywhere even found earing thats wasn't mine I get its a old property but if you've not had guests in for a while you check the room before you let it out and make sure it's clean and free off cobwebs and dust room looked as if it had not been cleaned in a while glad I took a extra inhaler with me as boy did I need it
