I am sharing a horrifying experience at GRAND CONTINENTAL HOTEL, PRAYAGRAJ (CIVIL LINES). I am sharing this to warn everyone. Do not be fooled by their reviews. They practically force you to give good reviews and get aggressive if you dont. The reception staff are intimidating and not welcoming. The hotel claims to be 3 star hotel but has tariffs of 5 star and staff service of 1 star hotel. The front desk staff (esp. Zareena) was discourteous and staff has zero service attitude. To top off the pathetic experience, hotel overcharged me for more nights than I actually stayed. I fail to understand how can they charge as much as Kanha Shyam, Radisson and Sarovar Portico for ordinary rooms, uncooperative staff and bad service. The hotel thinks it has a monopoly in Civil Lines area. The worst part is that the entire hotel thinks as if they are doing some charity if you stay there. The bell boys keep looking at you and call the room number unnecessarily. As a girl, i did not feel comfortable and felt HARASSED. It felt highly UNSAFE to stay in this hotel. The rooms are not what they show in photos on Google. We were a group of 4 and all rooms were poorly lit, smelled of mould with old amenities. THE STAFF BEHAVIOUR WAS EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. I strongly urge potential guests to never go to GRAND CONTINENTAL HOTEL. This place is a nightmare. If you've had similar experiences, please share them to prevent others from going through such traumatic events. Hotel Kanha Shyam just a few meters away is a much better option. Go there.
