Our group of more than 38 people arrived past 8pm but our check-in was facilitated promptly and efficiently. Aside from the front desk staff, another male staff assisted us to the elevators, while a female staff gave advice on nearby places to eat, even accompanied us outside for proper directions. The male staff at the bar was polite and cheerful. Though already almost 9pm, we felt safe walking through charming and quiet alleys leading to a seafood restaurant with outdoor seating overlooking the Ligurian sea. While I lingered near an old bastion, listening to the waves, my friend checked out La Lanterna pizzeria. She came back excitedly with a box of freshly baked pizza and a carafe of proseco. She gushed how nice the staff were, allowing her to bring the carafe to the hotel as she cannot possibly finish a whole bottle of the sparkling wine. The hotel is prestine and elegant (surprising for a 3-star hotel). Our room had a coffee nook with skylight window. Soooo charming. The shower area is rather small but the rest of the bathroom is so big, bright and clean, and had nice amenities, including generous supply of very clean towels. Equally surprising was the breakfast. The dining area was very spacious and bright. Cheerful staffs were there to assist though everything has been already prepared and organized. Menu was combined continental (egg, yogurt, cheese, butter, cereals and fruits) and Italian (a variety of sweet pastries and coffee). The best breakfast we had in our week long hotel-hopping trip.
