Uday Backwater Resort

We stayed here with a group of friends on a rainy day, and the experience was truly memorable. We had heard earlier that the way to the hotel was very narrow, but we didn’t feel any difficulty — it was absolutely fine. The property has a great atmosphere and is well maintained. We enjoyed the rain, the calm surroundings, and had fun kayaking. The rooms were neat, with small artistic touches that added charm. A special thanks to Mr. Prince, the Housekeeping Manager, who was very helpful and made our stay even more comfortable. The staff were polite and friendly. We also received excellent laundry service, which was quick and well-handled. Mr. Prince also informed us about the upcoming Heritage Villas, and we’re definitely excited to come back and experience that on our next visit. Highly recommended for those looking for a peaceful and comfortable getaway with warm hospitality.

We stayed in the premium room and overall had a very good experience. At the time of our check-in, a big group also arrived, but the staff still gave us proper attention and made sure everything went smoothly. We also got a grand welcome with chendamelam, which was a nice touch and made us feel special. The best part of our stay was the service – especially Mr. Prince from housekeeping. He was very helpful and made sure we were comfortable throughout. The room was clean and well maintained, and any small needs were taken care of quickly. His team also did a great job. One thing we noticed was some noise from a nearby construction area (JCB sound), but it wasn’t too much of a problem as the staff, especially Mr. Prince, made sure we were comfortable despite that. Sitting by the lakeside in the evening was a different kind of peaceful experience. We could hear music from a nearby temple, and it added a nice vibe to the atmosphere. All in all, the staff were friendly and supportive. We had a lovely stay and would recommend this place to others.

Really enjoyed our stay here. The roads to the resort are small and crowded but that's because it's right on the lakeside with it's own jetty. There's a lovely looking reception with a Buddha statue and a small bridge which leads to the bedroom complex and the pool. Our bedroom was really nice with a balcony looking over the lake. Very comfortable bed and a nice bathroom. Very efficient air conditioning which is a must as it was very hot and humid. Unfortunately this meant that there were more mosquitoes than other parts of Kerala but some bug spray helped when we went out for a walk in the evening. The restaurant is really nice with the option of an a/c room, or sitting under the fans. As there wasn't much breeze, we chose the a/c room which was really good. There was a wide range of food choices from the a la carte menu and the dishes were not expensive. Inclusive breakfast was lovely with a chai/coffee station, fresh omlettes and masa dosa made on request. Lots of fruit and service was quick. The best thing we did was go on the sunset cruise in a shikara (small passenger boat) which was included in our package. We had an hour on the lake with just two of us onboard and the sunset was really beautiful. There were some really nice staff here and special thank you's have to go to Kavya on reception, Sulekha (Guest Services Advisor) and Prasanth who is the food and beverages manager. All of these people were willing to go above and beyond, but most importantly, took time to chat with us about what they do and how to make our holiday more enjoyable. Would defnitely come back to this resort, but maybe when it's not so hot.

It was a nice stay at UDS. Really enjoyed the atmosphere overall. The staffs were very helpful. Would recommend this place for a nice weekend stay.

The staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive, making me feel at home from the moment I arrived. The food was absolutely delicious with a wide variety of options that catered to every taste. The resort itself is stunning — set by the lake with plenty of birds around, creating a peaceful and natural atmosphere. I also loved that the property offers excellent facilities including a gym and a spa, which made my stay even more relaxing and refreshing. Overall, it’s the perfect mix of comfort, nature, and luxury. I highly recommend Uday Backwater Resort to anyone visiting India — it’s truly a slice of paradise!
