Lovedale Lakeside Homestay

I have been coming to Love Dale every year since 2012. It is a truly wonderful Homestay with delicious Food, fantastic views of the Lake and a Family that does everything to make your stay superb . This year I was running the Kochi Marathon 10k and Love Dale was my Training Venue . It was perfect and I was 1st Lady over 66 years in the Race . Looking forward to coming next year. Have been several times to Lovedale and the experience always excellent. Anshad and Amina are wonderful homestay hosts, helpful and always ready to suggest local trips etc. Rooms are comfortable, home cooking is superb and view over the lake is amazing. Will come again to relax and unwind.

I've stayed at Lovedale on the many occasions I've visited Kerala since 2016. My recent visits were between November 2023 and February 2024. Anshad, Amina and their children provide a real "homestay" as every visit is like staying with family. They are so warm and friendly, and helpful. I never tire of the beautiful location with it's views from the garden and the upstairs veranda in the house. So whether I'm staying in a garden room or in the main house all are equally lovely. It's wonderful to watch the fishermen going past, and spotting the colourful birds, while eating meals, or relaxing with a drink, under the garden gazebo. Amina's cooking is renowned, delicious local ingredients, with lots of variety at each meal. She even learned how to cater for my gluten free diet. Anshad advises me on what there is to do in the area and in nearby Alleppey, and has made lots of arrangements for me - boating, canoeing, dragon boat racing, day trips. It's fun catching the local bus into the city - which only costs 25 Rs! Tranquility and hustle and bustle with culture nearby - a perfect location. I'm looking forward to seeing all the updates planned for the homestay when I make my next visit.

This Homestay is in a very peaceful location, it is easy to while away the time watching the boats, birds and sunsets. The rooms are clean, tidy and spacious. Anshad and Amina are very generous hosts, food is delicious, varied and plentiful, as vegetarians we were not given the same meal twice during our week there. Love Dale is all that a Homestay should be.

This is an ideal place to unwind. Stunning scenery on this he shore of lake vandemad. I wish I could have stayed much longer in my 200 year old room en-suite with fantastic food, watching the wildlife, the fishermen canoeing past the garden are setting their Chinese fishing nets in evening. A newspaper in English with breakfast. I will return for a much longer stay. Thank you

Great value homestay. Anshad and Amina are perfect hosts nothing was too much trouble. Top class food prepared by Amina and served by Anshad. Lovely lakeside location watching the fisherman and houseboats passing by . A bird watchers paradise. Lots to see and do in the surrounding area.
