Southern Panorama Houseboats

Had a wonderful time cruising through the serene backwaters with Southern Panorama. The houseboat was beautiful, clean, and aesthetic—perfect for relaxing and soaking in the views. The staff was warm and served delicious local food throughout the trip. We even got to do some speed boating, which added a fun twist to the peaceful vibe. Highly recommend this experience!

What is the one thing Kerala is famous for? It's stunningly beautiful backwaters: The lakes, rivers and serene canals, the rice paddy fields, the abundantly friendly locals. Excellent tasty seafood and fish and fruits. So far all expectations met. Then you get on one of these houseboats for an overnight stay. The staff were informative & brilliant, the food was excellent. The landscape & waterways views during the ride were stunning. Then they park up cheek to jowl jammed next to hundreds of other boats at 7pm. Tarpaulin comes down and you are literally trapped inside for the night with no views. No point opening your bedroom window blinds as you see the men in the neighbouring boat doing their "toilet" duties. The water in the showers was salty water. So you can't have a decent shower. Taps rusting and not working, dirty towels, dark and dank bedrooms. Boats are dated and substandard. These are supposedly luxury or deluxe boats. I would say 2 star at best. Take the 2 or 3 hour small "Sikara' boat rides then stay in a hotel instead. Overrated unless they upgrade all houseboats and have some decent overnight mooring facilities with views.

It was more than expected. Clean room, decent big washroom and excellent service.

The place can be easily found on google Maps. The house boat was good, neat and clean with good service from the crew. The food can be improved by adding few local authentic Kerala foods which was missing. Also, the veg options can be increased. For example the non veg people will get fish fry in the lunch but no option for veg.

If you are looking for a sharing houseboat, then without a second thought you can go for Southern Panorama. Their outstanding hospitality and delicious food will surprise you.

The South Panorama Casino-1 houseboat provided an amazing experience in the Alleppey backwaters. The staff were incredibly polite, attentive, and made us feel at home throughout the journey. The food was outstanding, with deliciously prepared local dishes that added to the charm of the trip. A perfect way to relax and enjoy the serene beauty of the backwaters!
