Hotel Laxarbakki

性價比很高的酒店，鍋碗瓢盆都齊全，冰箱洗衣機乾衣機都有，準備可以住一段時間。早餐不錯。之前晚上看到火燒雲。

This is a great room for the price and had a kitchenette,fridge,etc. Wish we could have stayed at this location more than one night. We had some rain along the way and it was nice to have use of the washer and dryer. The only downfall was that the seal in our shower was not tight which caused quite a mess and a larger need for the dryer that was available. The hike to glymur is close from this location as well. The owner was also very pleasant and personable.

We very much enjoyed the hospitality of the hosts on our trip up the west coast of Iceland. They were warm and inviting. It felt almost like we were with family. The rooms were worth the price but not anything spectacular. It is a good place to stay enroute.

A group of friends going to what we Icelanders call “jólahlaðborð” or Christmas buffet decided to make a week-end of it. Laxárbakki is only about half an hours drive north of Reykjavík, so close enough so that it was not a major roadtrip but far enough to feel like a true get-away. The hotel is family-owned and -run and we got that warm family feeling throughout our stay. The check-in was probably the fastest I have experienced and what a delight to go into our spotless clean hotel-apartment, with our own balcony (although, Iceland in Dec is not really full of balcony moments... 😊) We had our little spa-moment in the hot tub and sauna before getting ready for the buffet. The food was delicious and again that warm family feeling was present with three generations working in the restaurant that night. After a night filled with excellent food, drinks and lots of laughter we got a real good night’s sleep in a new and comfortable bed in a very quiet environment. I will be recommending this place to friends and family looking for a nice get-away-treat and also those going for “jólahlaðborð”. For foreign visitors I can also recommend both the hotel and restaurant if you want to stay close to but not in Reykjavík. It is right off the main road (so no time wasted on a detour) but in a quiet and beautiful spot. p.s. the photo is of the balcony and view from our room

I spent 3 nights with my family here, quick and easy check in6, with lots of parking. It took around 2 hours to reach the hotel from Keflavic Airport due to a road closure with high winds, but we made it. The apartment had a double, a single, and a large sofa bed. It was always warm, with underfloor heating and a nice warm bathroom too. The kitchen was well equipped, as well as seating and a large TV. On the last night the skies were clear and there's not so much light pollution at the location so we enjoyed a glimpse of the green sky! I'd definitely recommend staying here as a base for touring if you've got your own transport.

Hosts were friendly and helpful with travel tips. Breathtaking landscapes, quiet and relaxing nature surroundings, interesting walking with views of mountains and river on one side and the ocean on the other. Rooms were clean, guesthouse equipped with kitchen and utensils.

Just happened on to this place after arriving in Iceland and heading towards the Westfjords. The owners are very friendly, had a great fresh fish dinner, nice hot tub and sauna. A buddy and I stayed in the guesthouse that had bunk beds. We were the only ones in the guesthouse part of the place the one night we stayed. Great grounds to walk around, right next to a river. If I found myself back in the area I would for sure stay here again.
