Ariadne Beach - Adults Only

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel over the past year, and to be honest, I wasn't that impressed last time, and nothing has changed. My wife and I really like the area but could only find availability at this hotel, so I decided to stay here again. I really wish I hadn't. My main issue is the rudeness of the staff here. Most of them ( not all) are incredibly arrogant and act like they are superior to the guests. They speak to you like you are naughty children, which really i don't expect from a holiday. I had at least three occasions of this. Two involved restaurant staff and the issue of us being half board. On checking in, I was told by reception staff that we can change dinner for lunch on our half board package. This led to daily battles at the restaurant where we were being told we had to pay. I had one argument with a member of staff called Gigorios who shouted at me that I had to pay, even though what I was told a reception. He later said this was ok, but I got no apology. Again, the same thing happened two days later with another member of staff. We raised this with our rep, and we they were told we should have been given meal vouchers to change our meal from dinner to lunch. We were never told this at reception when we checked in. Another incident was when I went to use the gym. I collected the gym key from reception and went back to my room to get changed. As soon as I got back to my room, I had an angry phone call from reception telling me to go to the gym now, as people wanted to use it. I had only been gone five mins. The woman was incredibly rude on the phone, demanding I go to the gym now. When I got there, no one was waiting. Actually, it took fifteen mins before anyone turned up. Overall, this resort is just poor quality. From the very steep steps to get to your room, repeative food, poor choice of drinks, and rude staff. As you can see from my profile, I'm a seasoned traveller who has been to many hotels/resorts all over the world. And I'm sorry, this place is rather poor. My advice is to avoid and book somewhere else, as the town of agios nikolaos is beautiful and worth a visit.

We were very disappointed with this so called 4 star hotel. The reception staff were unable helpful. The staff in the " dining room" were very friendly and helpful but it was more like a canteen. Tinned fruit at breakfast etc. We were in a superior room but although the bedding was changed most days the pillows were lumpy and tea/milk replacement was sporadic. All rooms were up steep slopes and steps ( many steps with no handrail ) so not at all suitable for anyone with even slight walking difficulties. The food was repetive and all buffet service. . We definitely wouldn't rate it 4 star

It was my first time at a spa and it was really good! I had a back, neck and head massage and it was really relaxing. The spa was nicely decorated and had relaxing music on. The products used, felt like good quality and were really nice to feel. Overall a good experience!

The hotel is very clean and the whole team management, reception, restaurant, chefs and waiting staff. Everyone works hard to make your stay a pleasant one. Nothing is too much trouble. Very courteous and polite. Teamwork at its best. The restaurant works like clockwork. Hats off to the head Chef and head of hospitality. Very relaxing stay. Just would have liked more entertainment in the main bar area., no disrespect to the bar staff who work hard.

Lovely rocky beach on your doorstep and a sandy one 10mins walk away. Aghios Nicholaus is about 15mins walk away and its a great place to spend some time. Nice shops and restaurants and a lovely vibe. Hotel rooms are in tiers up the mountainside and look very pretty. However we were in 187 and 188, the two highest apartments, and it is quite a haul both up and down to the pool , restaurant etc. We made use of the golf buggy service at the end of most evenings but generally speaking, if you are offered anything higher than 160 think seriously about it. You will definitely not be popping back to your room for anything youve forgotten unless you absolutely have to. We had a supierior room which although clean , felt dated and not 4☆quality Food is very good and plentyful although as with most All Inclusive deals we did get bored and ate out on two of our 6 nights. Staff are friendly and helpful and , yes, the guy in the pool bar is not a happy chap. Drinks were not as good as the food. Pool bar only serves cola etc and no branded soft drinks. Ice cream is available but no ice lollies etc. When the main bar is open , only after 6, there are branded drinks available but there is a two tier band system in place. You are only allowed certain cocktails etc and even have to pay extra for fresh orange juice. Entertainment is practically non existant. A dj played exactly the same set on two nights and there was singer guitarist on the night we arrived. We paid over £2600 per couple for 7 nights and i was expecting more from the Ariadne which could so easily be a much better hotel with relatively minor changes.
