Atlantica Amalthia Beach Hotel - Adults Only

We arrived later than expected due to a delay leaving UK and we were given a very warm welcome and guided to our room. We woke up to a delicious breakfast in the restaurant and a quick word with reception regarding a minor mix up with our room which the lovely receptionist dealt with swiftly with an upgrade to a superior room and voucher for a three course meal in the restaurant (which was lovely). Our seaview room was spacious and well air-conditioned (also very quiet) it was located poolside with 1 minute walk to the beach what could be better than that?! There are plenty sunbeds available for a small charge (which is to be expected) these offer waiter/waitress service and they provide you with water and an ice bucket. The hospitality staff where brilliant & so friendly, we where treated to some celebratory drinks along with a bottle of wine in the room - as I turned 50 during our stay!! The bottom line is that this hotel is still very good, this was our third visit and this time we invited our extended family to come along with us because we had had such a lovely time last time….unfortunately though our holiday was spoiled by a couple of things….firstly…a large group of single sex adults who arrived at the same time would take over the place and they would have that loud group mentality, having little thought for other guests nearby, one night one of them was so drunk they fell over right in front of peaple eating in the outside restaraunt, this kind of thing we did not expect at this hotel, honestly it was embarrassing and more befitting a Benidorm bender rather than a relaxing Cretan break….we thought this hotel only catered for couples and families so we found this all to be very disapointing….but in the hotels defence we may have just got unlucky this time?… secondly..the hotel used to play nice chilled out music at the top side pool bar, but that has now been replaced with party dance and rap music that just isnt appropriate or relaxing and to be honest both of these things have put us off from returning here which is a shame, because it is a lovely hotel in a lovely resort.

Excelent Hotel! Nice and friendly staff. The rooms are clean and quite big. I stayed there with my daughter for 10 nights and we really enjoyed it. The beach is one of the loveliest in the area and very family friendly. The bar has good choice of drinks and cocktails. The breakfast buffet is excellent and very rich.

2021 was the second year when we've choosed Amalthia Beach. The staff îs very friendly and polițe.The rooms are very clean and The pool îs amazing. The food îs delicios. We hale enjoyed very much the week that we starea and,2 dans before the check out we decided to stay one more. We have traveled all over Greece and we decide to stop every year to Amalthia. We want to Thank you for The Best vacation experiente that Amalthia provided to us!

Location Agia Marina beach is very clean and has lots of lovely places to eat and drink overlooking the ocean including some beach clubs with comfy sun beds and waiter service. The hotel is right in the middle of a street of restaurants so you don’t need to walk far. It’s 20 mins in a taxi to Chania town and harbour which is absolutely stunning and well worth visiting (although it’s very busy and touristy). Eating and drinking We didn’t have a bad meal once, food was outstanding. We only realised late in the holiday that there was a street of beautiful traditional restaurants a short walk up the hill from the hotel. Explore early! If you’re looking for bars for drinks after food, we thought that was the only thing slightly lacking but maybe that’s because it was early season when we were there. A couple to note - Level (good service and drinks ok), Litina (nice drinks terrible service, we walked out one night after waiting for drinks), the rest of the places to drink seemed to be restaurants. The hotel Spotlessly clean. I got up early a couple of mornings and I could smell the bleach where they’d been cleaning around the pool. We had a deluxe room with pool view which was lovely, and ideal being right next to the pool for the early sunbed wars (more on that in a bit). Room service was great, clean towels every day, water replaced. Pools were all clean and well maintained. Sun beds very very comfy. Only downside of the pool was that people were getting up at 7am and reserving beds. Not the hotels fault but annoying. Food and drinks at the hotel were great, cocktails were excellent and full range of spirits. We ate at the pool bar a couple of times and the menu was very good and food tasty. Staff Staff at the hotel were really nice. Very well turned out, friendly and approachable. Reception were very helpful but we have to give a special shout out to a few. Kiki at the pool bar was outstanding, so pleasant, very attentive and great at her job. Antonis and Iannis at the restaurant bar made our holiday, great craic and again, very attentive.

We are on our way home from an amazing holiday here! Cannot fault a thing, Tatiana and her team pulled out all the stops for my mums 60th surprise, we were so happy. We all had beautiful massages with Maria at the Melody Spa, so friendly and relaxing! Everywhere was clean and nice, all of the staff were friendly and helpful! Iannis and Antonis and the team at the restaurant were always so fun and friendly too. We definitely want to return here soon when we can!
