I will start my review by saying that in any case I would have awarded 5 stars to this lovely place, even if all had gone smoothly and the start of our holiday hadn't caused us huge amounts of stress, caused by my wife leaving her rucksack in a shared taxi we had taken from the highway near the airport! With no way of contacting the driver we started to work out how we could find the British Consul to obtain emergency passports, block credit cards, plan to replace house keys, mobile phone, important documents and ID card when we got home, money etc etc. Our driver didn't know where the Riad was, so had dropped us near the Préfecture and we asked a couple of policemen who were taking tea at a tiny cafe. Between them and the lady who worked there, they pointed us in the right direction, the lady from the cafe even accompanying us to the door. It was only when we were inside that we realised the small bag was missing. I went back to the cafe with the lovely Selma, who had welcomed us to the Riad in case my wife had put the bag down there on the ground, but that wasn't the case, so the the next minute, Selma, the lady from the cafe and her co-worker closed the cafe, bundled me into a taxi and we all went to the small office of the Sureté, where the best I could do was give my name and the cafe lady gave her phone number. Back to the Riad, where they made us tea. Didier wasn't around, but he was a tremendous help, talking to us in WhatsApp video calls and making phone calls to try and see if he could find our taxi. We sat there miserably until the cafe lady (I wish I knew her name!) came across excitedly to tell us the driver had contacted the police and they had traced us and phoned her, so Hassan the Riad's taxi driver took us back to the Sureté office where the officers told us the airport driver would bring the bag back to the Riad when he got back to town later that day. He duly did and was rewarded with hugs and handshakes and a grateful tip that probably would have let him put his feet up on the beach for several days! We could then relax and enjoy our accommodation, which was just as in the photos. Our three night stay was like being at a friend's house, rather than paid lodgings. The atmosphere was lovely and mother and daughter Fatima and Selma looked after us brilliantly. We enjoyed a wonderful tagine dinner on the terrace, prepared by the dynamic duo and in general loved our first visit to Agadir (bar those first few hours!) We settled into a routine of exploring in the morning, places like the amazing souk, the ruins of the Kasbah by cable car etc and then onto the beach in the afternoon to relax and I could sneak away and have a few beers at places like Jade and O Playa, where we had a fantastic evening meal with a table on the terrace, watching the sunset on our Ruby Wedding anniversary. All too soon our four days were up and Hassan took us on an exciting ride back to the airport :) We can't wait to return. Agadir is a brilliant c
