Vila Gale Douro Vineyards

我去， 住在風景畫裏,真的很漂亮。酒店很新，很經典。值得推薦 ... 如果來葡萄牙，這個山頂酒莊一定，一定，一定要來住，太漂亮了。

Stayed 1 night as part of a 3 week holiday across Portugal. This was Vila Gale hotel number 3/4 we would stay. We booked a suite as a family of 4. The room was great, spacious, clean, very nice and modern. The balcony view was amazing looking out over the River and vineyards. Breakfast was nice with plenty of options from the buffet for the kids. We stayed half board and ate in the restaurant in the evening. It is buffet style and is ok but not amazing. Pool was very good with amazing views and the pool bar very convenient. Location is remote and you need a car. We traveled after staying in Porto and took a scenic drive of about 2hrs (but can be quicker on motorways). But the drive is well worth the location. It is in a stunning area and the panoramic views from all parts of the hotel are amazing. This hotel should be 5* and could be with some minor tweaks. The buffet restaurant is more 4* resort and with the change to A la carte menu restaurant would suit its style more. Also the addition of further bar areas other than the restaurant would add the extra. Apart from that it was a great stay and the staff where all pleasant, helpful and kind. Also felt comfortable with kids but would maybe come back as a couple one day to enjoy ;-).

What a superb place to stay. The views are out of this world. Overlooking the river. Had a good room overlooking the pool. We stayed 2 nights in a group. Had a private wine tasting tour which was very interesting. It was very quiet when we stayed. The only thing we can comment on is we do not like buffets. Will be back I am sure as we have stayed in many VillaGale hotels, but this is one of the best

The place it selfis very nice view accommodation etc. Big problem for someone who wakes up early no coffee machine in the rooms went to the front desk the employee set on his stair in front of his computer and told me it open at 8.00am. It’s 6,30 in the morning no coffee very sad for early bird to wait to until 8:00am to have a coffee it’s un acceptable as a quality luxurious facility that there’s no coffee before 8:00am. So my advise stay in bed until 8:00 there no coffee available. Don’t forget we are in Portugal the European most coffee drinker…

This is a part of a bus tour of Portugal. Beautiful location with breathtaking views. Unfortunately we were only here for 1 night. There is a wine cellar and restaurant and of course beautiful accommodations with spectacular views of the Douro Valley. The room was huge and the bathroom clean and luxurious. Love to come back again and stay for longer!

Amazing room with a view! Comfortable bed mattress, a huge living space. The hotel grounds are beautifully manicured, the breakfast buffet has a big selection for everyone’s food desire. Two big swimming pools! An on-site winery was a plus; make a reservation to go on a winery tour.

Great venue, buildings, pools and views. Stunning rooms and layout belie a two-star operation. Given the property’s wow you’d expect something other than a bland dinner buffet and a taking deposit for a pool towel. Staff are helpful and very kind but still inexperienced - a morning coffee refill was always an ordeal. I would return in a year to see if they’ve turned the corner on service and amenities (tissues, bath amenities, in-room coffee maker, washcloths, etc.).

We stayed two nights here with board. Had breakfast and dinner here. Food was really good. Especially dinner. I really enjoyed the different Portuguese varieties of food. The chef would come out and I could ask him about them and he would offer some suggestions. Good on him for doing that and compliments to him for the food quality. Rooms were great, they had most things although they don’t do kettles so you can boil hot water for a cup of tea. Air conditioning works well thankfully as it was hot. Poolside was great and refreshing. There is one downside; all the stairs from rooms to pool and restaurant and the driveway up.
