MAJOR BIRTHDAY PRESENT FAIL ☹️ We've been fortunate to have some success with the Great State Vouchers, both Accommodation & Experience. Such a great incentive to help out all the businesses who've been suffering due to RONA & also a great excuse for everyone to experience an escape from the everyday. I chose to redeem my voucher to help celebrate my partner's birthday, choosing a 2 night stay in a One Bedroom Apartment - Executive @ the Mansions on Pulteney in the city. We'd visited there a few years back & found the apartment roomy, clean & comfortable. I googled their website to check out the rooms & to help decide which offer to take up as there were several, either 1 or 2 night stays - I opted for paying the extra & staying 2 nights in a room as mentioned above. Never, ever will we consider visiting here again! The apartment allocated to us was tiny, dark, dingy, dirty & just depressing. I rang reception & one of the staff came up so we could show them but no resolution. We sat & the more we looked around the more depressed I was becoming. Eventually the phone rang & another room was offered, I asked if the manager was available & could he come up so that I could show him why we were so disgruntled. Staff member came up & took us to another apartment not dissimiliar to what I expected from the get go (much more tired looking however than the website depicts) - we decided we'd stay & my partner transferred our luggage through to that room whilst I waited for the manager to arrive (Michael, I believe his name was). Was he apologetic, no - even after pointing out the giant cobweb just above head height in the lounge area, the filth beside the oven & the gunk down the side, the dirty, damaged balcony etc he continued to announce this was equivalent to the other room we'd just moved to??? I was just becoming more & more frustrated & actually angry - absolutely no people/customer service skills whatsoever were witnessed, just arrogance, belligerence & his inciteful comments were frankly quite ridiculous. I headed for the door as I just wanted to get away from him, unfortunately he followed me. From here I was silent so as not to exacerbate the situation. We sat for a moment or two after he'd left, I just wanted to go home. My partner contacted reception stating that we were leaving, our monies were refunded less of course the $100 voucher. I sincerely hope this establishment does not get to claim any part of the voucher - quite frankly I'd suggest the option to stay here with the voucher/s offered should be removed from the selection given as the Mansions on Pulteney most definitely don't help to promote our great state. Please take the time to check out their website, the manager said the room we were first allocated has pictures shown ... for the life of me I can't find them & if I did I sure wouldn't have bothered to venture there. #greatstaterepresentedbadly #shameonthemansions #birthdaypresentfail — at La loft Mansions.
