The Leddie

So disappointing to find myself longing for the most basic of things in a competitive hospitality market…..service. Found myself negotiating for a food service and twisting the arm of staff to serve a walk in table of 6. It was not a busy night yet it could not be clearer how inconvenient our arrival was. I think i cleared the table myself three times of glasses and approached the bar requesting drinks after we were left abandoned by the younger, entitled staff of tomorrow. Similarly our request for a cocktail post dinner was met with distain…how dare we. Beyond that we almost had to beg to pay, such a hardship. I enjoy all the East Lothian bars/restaurants and have seen them evolve over the years, but wow, this place thinks its a cut above but its so far from a proper experience.

This place was packed with golfers and other travelers. If the staff were under stress (as they should have been) they didn't show it. Warm, funny, welcoming and quick to meet everyone's needs. Could not get over just how well they handle the big group. Excellent, really excellent.

Spent a day and night at The Leddie with two friends as a treat with their Spring Dinner Bed & Breakfast deal. We had a lovely time. Aberlady is a smashing little town so The Leddie is well located. The hotel is beautifully decorated, from the reception and lounge area right through to the rooms. We enjoyed the food, both dinner and breakfast, and also the cocktails! What stood out for us was the staff. Even from the booking process, which due to us was a wee bit complicated and had to be rearranged, the staff were wonderful. Warm and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble, even with the hotel being busy - and that goes for every member of staff we encountered. I'm gushing here a bit because it was that good and really made our stay delightful.

Cannot fault this hotel from the minute we walked through the door . The decor is beautiful and all areas of hotel are spotlessly clean . All staff from reception to dining/ bar were all very friendly and helpful . (Always smiling ) Good choice of food for our evening meal and breakfast . Will certainly be back and would definitely recommend it to all our friends .

From the moment we arrived we were greeted with friendly faces that were an extremely accommodating. They lead us to our room, to our table at first dinner and made sure we had everything we could want for the room whether at night with the right temperature prior to arrival, or with newspapers and milk for the morning. All the waiting staff were equally attentive, kind and welcoming and the room, food and drink all went beyond expectation.

Stunning hotel, attention to detail in the whole hotel is stunning Really friendly and helpful staff Food is top notch Look forward to my next stay there Ideally placed for a trip into Edinburgh and a whole host of golf courses If you get a chance have a meal in the restaurant as the food is a treat with a warm and friendly atmosphere
