Preston House

We stayed here for my dad’s 70th birthday and it was just perfect. It is beautiful decorated and so comfortable and spacious. All bedrooms were huge with very comfortable mattresses pillows and duvets. The kitchen was equipped with all essentials. The main living area had two huge tables to accommodate everyone and a gorgeous bar which we decorated. There are multiple other living rooms all beautifully decorated and fires in 2 rooms that we could light with wood provided. We had kids from 7 months to 6 years and they loved the space to run around and play. The house looks very luxurious but was very safe for them. We were afraid they would brake something but it was set up so there wasn’t stuff at there level they could break. The location is great with a supermarket, chipper, pubs, restaurant, playground in walking distance. We are thinking of staying again for my our next family occasion. Everyone enjoyed it so much and would love to return. Communication with the host was very easy with fast response and so helpful. They even let us check in early to set up decorations. The house is huge but the hosts had it so well heated it felt nice and cosy.

We visted in May with a group of family and friends and 1 toddler. Ross was a generous and helpful host, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout the trip. The house itself was impressive, with its wonderful history on display. With six spacious ensuite double bedrooms. We had great weather which meant we spent most our time in the beautiful garden/courtyard. The large dinning room and bar area meant we could have meals together and the kitchen was fully equipped for catering for bigger groups. Preston House is a perfect place for big groups with lots of free on street parking but also good public transport links and lots of things to do in walking distance of the house. The town, Abbeyleix has Morrissey's, a great historic pub, a lovely bog trail, restaurants, supermarket and a fab bakery all in walking distance. I absolutely would recommend Preston House for any group looking for a good deal in an excellent location.
