This is our first time to ski Japan. This hotel was located perfectly with great access to some super beginning facilities. Good enough about skiing, the hotel is perfect and the staff is amazing. The food and amenities are excellent. We had a private hot spring every evening really added to the enjoyment. My wife and I and eight year-old daughter had a great time you so much for the great experience and all the hospitality Perfect Stay. 100%!!!

The cottages were a little out of the way but they are perfect - toasty during winter, spacious with an ensuite bathroom per bedroom, and accessible via the frequent bus service. It’ll be even better if a microwave is provided in the cottage, and if our ski/snowboard fear can be stored in the locker room near the slopes (we arent allowed to do so and have to carry them back to our cottages everyday. We stayed at the premium room at the main building previously and would say each experience is unique, but staying at the main building would be more convenient and staying at the cottage is more special especially during winter.

La ubicación es un poco mala porque está muy lejos de todo y no hay opciones de comida cerca. Si tienes coche, no hay problema. Sin embargo, el buffet es carísimo: 8000 yenes por persona.
Parece que el detergente que usaron en las sábanas me irritó la piel.
Sin embargo, su atención al cliente fue fantástica, al igual que sus aguas termales.

Отель выглядит старым и не очень примечателен с улицы. Но японцы ооочень хорошо убираются и там крайне чисто. Конечно же расположение крайне удобно (в соседнем здании классный рамен). Также есть раритетная техника, например кран с двумя вентилями или старенький телевизор - аутентично. Из минусов - не удалось включить кондиционер на охлаждение, только на отопление.

아즈미노 호텔을 거점으로 카미코치와 노리쿠리 고원을 갔어요. 카미코치는 너무 아름다운 자연과 깨끗함에 감탄했습니다. 노리쿠라 고원은 겐가미네 라고 하는 산정상이 있는데 3026미터입니다. 노리쿠라 고원까지 차를 타고 가서 셔틀버스를 타고 2700미터까지 갈수 있어요. 거기에서 산정산 3026미터까지는 힘들게 등산하지만 2시간이면 충분히 천천히 올라갈수 있어요. 너무 너무 아름다운 산 정상에서 인생샷. 아침 일찍 호텔에서 7시에 출발하면 오후 5시경에 돌아올수 있어요.

Wanted a traditional ryokan experience and this ryokan ticked all the boxes! Service was so personable, and the food was so so delicious. Rooms were of decent size as well. Can’t recommend this enough.
FYI that there is a pickup service from Yudanaka station to the ryokan. They can send you to the monkey park / Yudanaka station in the morning. If you’re going to the snow monkey park, the ryokan can send your luggage to Yudanaka train station (free) so that you can pick it up when you’re heading from the snow monkey park back to Yudanaka.

Tras haberme alojado en varios hoteles de Nagano, considero que LiveMAX ofrecía la mejor relación calidad-precio. Las habitaciones eran limpias y nuevas, y contaba con un baño termal en la segunda y tercera planta. Además, estaba justo enfrente de un parque. Justo en el parque acababa de abrir una cafetería que ofrecía desayunos y otras bebidas; la ubicación era muy cómoda. El hotel también gozaba de una ubicación privilegiada cerca de la salida este, lo que facilitaba el acceso a la estación de esquí.

Hay muchos baños, lo cual es divertido. El baño al aire libre es muy bueno. Los vestuarios son pequeños.
El desayuno buffet fue abundante y el local era espacioso, lo que facilitó la elección de qué comer. Como ya teníamos media reserva, nos ofrecieron platos de Año Nuevo y sake gratis. Hubo algunos problemas con la demora del servicio de cena privada y con la guía de la habitación, pero como era Año Nuevo y el personal se esforzaba al máximo, pudimos tomarlo con humor.
En comparación con antes, parece que han cambiado su enfoque para atraer a familias, y la imagen general ha renacido con un aire más joven y alegre.

Love this ryokan! The service was just amazing! We arrived the ryokan feeling cold and asked where we could get some heat pads and was told that since the ryokan provides free shuttle to train station, they could send us to convenient store. And before it, the staff came back with some mini heat pads for us to use for the meanwhile. There was also paid shuttle to snow monkey park (500 yen per pax one way) that you can arrange with them. We had a tatami room, it was spacious and the staff came to the room to do the check in and served tea and welcome snack to us. The ryokan guests are entitled to go to nine onsens around the area for free. The ryokan provides yukatas and all necessities for it. The meals were sumptuous and super yummy. Overall, a fantastic ryokan experience for us!

UUsuario invitadoSoy un viajero solitario que se quedó en la habitación con baño privado abierto. Me disfruté de mi estancia de 2 noches. Hotel se ve cansado y viejo pero todo estaba bien. IVA, tienes que usar una clave para abrir la puerta no acceso tarjeta.
Pagué por mi habitación con desayuno y cena. Tengo un espacio privado para cenar en un restaurante que me gusta. Saltar a la cola y cenar en el mismo lugar para todas las comidas. La cena era grande. La distribución del desayuno también era maravillosa.
Traté de hacer un masaje japonés de una hora y fue muy bueno.
No hay nadie que pueda hablar inglés.
Hay un transbordador gratuito para entrar y salir.
¡En general ¡Yo daré 9/10!!

UUsuario invitadoNos ha gustado mucho el sitio, el hecho de tener un baño privado en la habitación ayuda mucho a la relajación y a disfrutar más la experiencia tradicional.
En cuanto a las instalaciones, en general todo bien, poder utilizar todos los baños del ryokan hace que sea una experiencia más placentera. La habitación tenía algo de polvo pero en general bien.
En cuanto al servicio, muy bien en la cena pero cabe destacar que si les pides una recomendación les cuesta indicarte ya que está fuera de su guión. En el desayuno, des de nuestro punto de vista es algo más frío, ya lo tienen preparado en la mesa correspondiente y no te indican como lo hacen durante la cena. Así mismo, consideramos que durante la estancia el personal tampoco está mucho por los huéspedes y no te informan de todos los servicios que te pueden ofrecer.
Se pueden comprar yukata en el mismo hotel por 5000 yenes aproximadamente.

We stayed 3D2N from 13 November 2025 at Hotel Keigetsu (日長庵 桂月), and it turned out to be one of the best choices for our Nakasendo trip. The ryokan sits in a peaceful corner of Hirugami Onsen, surrounded by nature and traditional Japanese charm.
There is a designated parking area exclusively for guests, accommodating around 15-20 cars of all sizes, making it very convenient for self-drive travellers.
We chose a Japanese-style room with a private bathroom, and the highlight was the beautiful wooden bathtub — perfect for a relaxing soak in complete privacy. In the mornings, the view from our room was calm and peaceful, with gentle bird chirping adding to the serene atmosphere.
Our stay included breakfast and dinner, and both meals were exceptional. Each dish was beautifully prepared using seasonal ingredients, and the servers were patient and friendly, taking time to explain each course and share stories about local flavours. Their warm hospitality truly enhanced the dining experience.
The ryokan is within walking distance to the Morning Market, just about 10 minutes away, making it an enjoyable little morning stroll. There is also a FamilyMart right beside the ryokan, just a short walk away — extremely convenient for drinks, snacks, or last-minute essentials during your stay.
The staff also introduced several nearby activities and hiking trails, and the routes are super visitor-friendly, making this ryokan an ideal base for exploring the Nakasendo area.
The onsen baths were another highlight — soothing, clean, and filled with Hirugami’s famously smooth, skin-friendly hot spring water. Perfect for unwinding every evening.
Overall, Hotel Keigetsu offers excellent food, warm service, relaxing onsen, comfortable rooms, and unbeatable convenience, whether you’re here for onsen relaxation or the Nakasendo trail.
Highly recommended for a peaceful, authentic, and memorable ryokan stay in Nagano. ♨️🍁🌿✨

FFussy New YorkerI had a large tatami room with side sitting area and sink as well as an ante-room. I had three delicious Japanese meals at the ryokan that were served with polite elegance. The two in-house onsen baths were a joy to use after a day of skiing. The staff was knowledgeable about how to get around by the buses and suggested the best restaurants for days that I did not eat at the ryokan. Senshinkan Matsuya was situated in the center of.Shibu Onsen town next to three of the public onsen. I could not ask for a better stay!

UUsuario invitadoWe spent 2 nights in Prince after first 2 nights in Kusatsu onsen town. The hotel looked underwhelming on arrival and the front office service was efficient but cursory compared to the warm hospitality we had in the ryokan stay. It was low season and hotel was very quiet and had a ”cold” atmosphere.
I was further disappointed when we were shown our room which was on the lowest floor with a simple garden view. On requesting the check-in staff for a change of room on higher floor and a more scenic view, I was told there is an upgrade charge, which I accepted. The new room was the same size and configuration but on a higher floor with a nice view of Mt Asama. While I was happy to pay the fee, I can't help but compare their practice with all the hotels that I have stayed in all these years, where room changes were complimentary so long as the room type remains the same. Nevertheless, the hotel's facilities delighted me immensely and I enjoyed the overall experience.
The highlight of the hotel stay was the fantastic view of Asama in a high ceiling dining room with full glass window. We were able to have different table seatings for both morning breakfast as the hotel occupancy was low, which gave us different perspectives of the scenery.
The other highlight of the hotel is the onsen facility which is located in a separate building on higher ground, accessible via a self service automated tram. Aside from Asama view in the outdoor onsens, there is a common lounge which has equally awesome view of Asama. We enjoyed our time soaking in onsen and resting in the lounge.

I would go back to Prince Asama and experience the scenery during a different season!

Note: restaurant is by reservation only. Dinner snow crab dinner is worth the price. Open bar. Also cash only needed do the hotel tax due at arrival.

I love every details they put, walking on tatami and great decoration. And I can say this chain is one of the best hotel in japan.
- Even room is small but lower bed makes it more spacious. And with no view room you still got sunlight dont worry.
- Location is good, walkable from the station.
- Breakfast is amazing! Freshly fried Tempura is authentic, also Gyudon and others also great. I love apple juice too.
- Dont forget night soba and treats after onsen.
- Onsen is good too but only indoor.
- The rest area beside onsen is fantastic, in the morning with the view of Japanese alps they even have name of each mountain so cute.
- Tips for restaurants nearby, there are izakaya food court like gathering all izakaya in one place and yiu can choose what you like

Having to catch shuttle buses to the ski fields every day was frustrating - they were usually very crowded and infrequent (even though we travelled there out of peak season). The hotel was out of the ski boot size that one of our group needed. There was very limited (hardly any) vegetarian food available even though we had requested it before departure (some of our group were vegetarians). There were no English speaking television stations. The hotel was beautifully presented with great housecleaning and the onsen was much appreciated.
