During winter, the road for the last 800 meters before reaching the hotel is closed, and you must walk in. Guests need to park at Okama Onsen first. Before arrival, you are required to inform the hotel of your check-in time so that a staff member can guide you on foot to the property. The staff will help carry your luggage, but if you have many bags, it’s best to inform them in advance. The highlight of this stay is definitely the walk to the hotel. You walk deep into the forest along towering walls of snow on both sides, and eventually discover the onsen hidden in the woods. It feels truly special and secluded. The lobby area is not very large, and the number of staff is quite limited, but overall the service was very good. Dinner was served at a counter bar, and the chef was extremely friendly and spoke good English. The receptionist at the lobby, who is from Taiwan, speaks English, Chinese, and Japanese fluently. She explained everything clearly, helped carry our luggage on the way out, and even assisted with clearing snow off our car. Personally, I found the public onsen area to be a bit disappointing. The floor was icy and slippery, which felt somewhat unsafe. However, the private onsen in the room was excellent — very private, spacious for an in-room bath, with a beautiful view and wonderfully fragrant mineral water. The room itself was spacious, quiet, and peaceful. Mobile signal does not work inside the hotel, but the hotel provides Wi-Fi, which was stable and fast. Both breakfast and dinner were very good, and the hotel responded to emails and accommodated our special dietary requests, which we really appreciated. The only regret was that the snow was extremely deep during our visit, making it hard to fully see and imagine the surrounding scenery.

El viaje fue incorrecto, lo que llevó a quedarse más de una noche en la planta de la aldea de la vacaciones de mama caliente. Esta pequeña ciudad parece tener este hotel abierto y también nuestra familia de huéspedes esa noche. La familia del jefe es muy amable, el servicio es muy bueno y ha hecho todo lo posible para ayudar a los huéspedes. La calefacción también está en el interior y en el exterior, la comida es un poco como la comida japonesa común, muy fresca y comer muy dulce. Las instalaciones son antiguas, y no hay ascensores, el transporte de equipaje es muy cansado.

We drove to the hotel and appreciated the big free parking available. We also noted the proximity of the train station, so location wise, it is convenient yet gives the sense of seclusion which is perfect for relaxation. Check in was a breeze, the English proficiency of the receptionist with the printed information in English good enough. the Onsen was large and the outdoor part was a joy! i particularly enjoyed my time there soaking in the hot water, listening to the sound of the flowing river and watching the fauna. food spread, quality and quantity at both dinner and breakfast was excellent. i noted that the staffs were diligently topping up items that were running out even to later in the meal times, unlike some places where they may just not do so. We booked a room with open air bath and it was worth the money for it! would totally do that again when i return and highly recommended. must compliment the lounge with their welcome drinks and rice crackers which you can help yourself to. although its just rice crackers, it a nice touch, perhaps adding some nuts is my only suggestion. would highly recommend this place to stay if around, in fact we deliberately chose to stay here to break our journey from Hirosaki to Morioka, so glad we did!

El Hotel Kamenoi está ubicado en la montaña y es uno de los pocos establecimientos en funcionamiento en la zona. Sus instalaciones son muy amplias. Optamos por un paquete de media pensión, que ofrecía una buena relación calidad-precio. Además, como de costumbre, por la noche sirven ramen de cortesía, lo cual es perfecto para los niños en crecimiento. Nos alojamos en una habitación tipo suite que contaba con camas dobles de estilo occidental y tatamis japoneses. La habitación era muy amplia y espaciosa. El agua de los grifos del hotel es agua potable de la montaña, con un sabor fresco, dulce y muy agradable al paladar. Nos encantó. Además, me di un baño en el onsen exterior en medio de la niebla, una experiencia fantástica.

El equipo caliente es perfecto, el sabor de la comida es delicioso, la actitud del servicio del personal es serio, es más barato que muchos hoteles de alto nivel de las ciudades. También hay acuerdos adecuados para prevenir la salida de la saliva, muy recomendado!

This place is super relaxing and peaceful, but you’ll need to drive there. The drive up to Towada Lake is an adventure in itself. The room is super clean and spacious. The dinner and breakfast are decent too. The bathhouse is a bit old-fashioned, but it’s clean and has a great view of the lake. It’s the perfect place to unwind during the middle of our trip.

Located in a remote part of the lake, this hotel is has a great view of the lake and a marvellous garden The rooms are large with western beds as as as tatami futons I had the lake view room. Magnificent view Unfortunately in early spring, the spectacular autumnal foliage shown in the all the posters were absent The onsen do have a great view but again in spring time there was nothing much to see except the lawn and the bare trees We did not take dinner here but breakfast was decent Good place for zen relaxation.

Fuimos de Kakunodate al lago Tazawa. Como íbamos a hacer turismo en el lago Tazawa, primero fuimos al hotel para dejar nuestro equipaje. En recepción nos dijeron que ya habían limpiado la habitación y nos dejaron registrarnos primero. ¡La actitud fue realmente buena! También nos explicaron la ruta y el horario del autobús hasta Tazawako, así como el horario del autobús que debemos tener en cuenta al regresar. ¡Muchas gracias! Después de visitar el lago Tazawa, me di un baño en las aguas termales del hotel ♨️, ¡que estaban limpias e higiénicas! Por la noche tuvimos un bufé y había sobre todo turistas japoneses mayores, así como un grupo de turistas de Taiwán. ¡Todos eran muy exigentes con los modales y la cortesía a la hora de comer! ¡Al día siguiente, después del check out, hay un autobús gratuito a la estación de Tazawako! Durante el viaje, mi pequeña hija dejó su teléfono celular en el autobús. ¡El conductor revisó el auto y me lo trajo de inmediato! Mi pequeña hija no se dio cuenta de que había olvidado su teléfono. ¡Quiero agradecerle mucho al conductor! ¡Pulgares arriba por su conocimiento del servicio!👍

El hotel está situado en una zona natural muy tranquila, con un servicio de lavandería y comida deliciosa. La habitación de la habitación es muy agradable, pero no es muy agradable tener algunas opciones occidentales en el desayuno, pero por supuesto es una casa japonesa tradicional, pero estas opciones se sentirían aún más lujosas. Algunos de los decoros se sientan un poco fechado, cocina o no ser armonioso, creo que necesitan una reconstrucción de los muebles, ya que parece más un montaje que una selección armoniosa de decoración y muebles. ¡Es un poco en el lado raro incluso a veces! ¡Pero la cama es excepcional!
