InterContinental hotel locates near Kunming's DianChi - 滇池 within walking distance. The hotel resort is relatively huge and it took me quite a while from my room to the lobby. So if you hate walking, this maybe something you need to consider. Furthermore, the room facilities are kind out of date especially the toilet which is a minus compared with other 6-star hotel. The restaurant especially the Chinese restaurant is not where you would get local Yunnan flavor, so avoid it if possible. In general, this is a resort hotel which is much better than any of the resort hotels I have visited in the West Coast of US. So I would still recommend it for anyone visiting Kunming, China.

非常的不合算，酒店太偏僻，離市區有20公里，大過年的周邊沒有任何吃的，每天跑市區吃飯來回的幾百塊車費，本身酒店又不便宜，加上搭車費比市中心5星還貴了，酒店在小區裏面，外觀是大氣豪華，房間內部也就維也納級別（沒有任何智能，電視根本看不了，卡的要死，馬桶都是老試冰冷的，全季比這配置好），室內温泉也就是小型的最多10個人就給擠滿的澡堂子，室外的冷的要死根本沒人去，3號入住門口拿行李的和前台服務非常好，4號續住的就沒任何服務可言了，早餐6.30開始，6.20到樓下看到吧枱有人了，順便問了下是否可以提前拿點麪包什麼的因為我們趕飛機，做吧枱穿白衣服的一女士直接回答了兩字:沒有，然後居然用鎖去把門鎖了揚長而去，應該是怕我們自己進去，整個大廳前台也只有一個人，6.15這樣實際大廳有很多客人在退房趕車了，第二天入住實際什麼服務沒有了，房間沒打掃是我同意的，水果沒送過當然頭天送的也沒吃因為也不好，早餐沒吃過（4號晚上我是到前台溝通過我走的早，溝通是6.30前衹要餐廳開門了可以餐廳拿點吃的就沒讓準備麪包，那想到6.20還碰這麼一茬，哪怕你可以説必須6.30才能進去都能理解）

Location is serene and peaceful, ideal for a relaxing getaway. You can easily take a car into the ancient city (＜10 mins) so distance is not a big deal. Room is clean and spacious, we liked the private hot spring to unwind in after a long day exploring Dali. The best experience here was the excellent service and assistance rendered by Judy. She went above and beyond her job scope to help us get in and around Dali, including arranging for transportation, booking of activities and restaurants, planning of itinerary etc. This was especially helpful as we are foreigners with no Chinese phone number, hence certain functions in various apps are restricted. Thank you Judy for making our holiday such a pleasant experience!

Give this a four star on amenities as they did not have a crib suitable for toddlers. younger babies, yes, but not if your baby is climbing or walking, the crib will not fit. The location is good and not far from a lot of the sites of Kunming ! Overall, I would love to stay at this hotel again, and I recommend it to all travelers.

The hotel is a beautiful designed one. And let me start with the biggest negative point, it lacks maintenance. Drywall coming loose, tiles missing, green fungus growing in the pool, weeds showing. If the hotel could fix this, it will be a great hotel. Another thing is that in the description, a gym is mentioned, but this is no longer the case. With all the negativity out of the way, the staff is friendly, offer tea and shuttle service, you can use the hot tub, great pool and the breakfast was also very nice. Room is clean and spacious, we liked the private hot spring to unwind in after a long day exploring Dali. The best experience here was the excellent service and assistance rendered by Judy. She went above and beyond her job scope to help us get in and around Dali, including arranging for transportation, booking of activities and restaurants, planning of itinerary etc. This was especially helpful as we are foreigners with no Chinese phone number, hence certain functions in various apps are restricted. Thank you Judy for making our holiday such a pleasant experience!
