In general, it is not bad for me to stay in a single room with a common bathroom for 10 nights. Above all, I would like to express my gratitude to the staff's efforts to manage the City Hostel clean which is too old and out fashioned building. * Location & Transportation Without noise, it is the best location to stay. It is located at 2 2-minute walk distance from Attaba subway station that connects to the Ramsis Railway Station and the Egypt Museum, only 1~3 stops away, charging 6 EGP per way. Of course, you can go to both by walk in 20 minutes. It means you can also enjoy the Nile riverside which is close to the museum. And it is a 2-minute walk distance from the Attaba market which is the biggest public market in Cairo and so many locals visit to buy their livelihoods stuff at a cheap price. In addition, you can also walk to the Al Azhar Mosque and Khan El-Khalili traditional market in 30 minutes, and St. Marc Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in AL Azbakeya in 10 minutes Two problems I experienced are firstly the noi⁹sy from 8 am to 3 am outside the building due to market area and cars' horns. It took 3 days for me to adapt it. Any room in the hostel cannot escape it without changing the windows to soundproof ones. If you are sensitive to sound, it is better to find other lodges in a residential area or modernized ones. Secondly, its location on the Uber taxi map and other maps is not accurate, so drivers have some problems in finding the city hostel. I have to meet them in front of the KFC next to the Attaba subway station. The signboard of the hotel is too small to recognize it. * Building and room conditions Like many other buildings in Cairo, the hostel building is old and shabby. The interior design and facilities are also outdated. However, the staff manages it so clean, particularly a common toilet and shower room. It is quite convenient a washstand in each room. However, it is bad there is no electronic kettle to boil water in a room or a common space. I could not enjoy my tea or coffee time at any time. I have to ask for hot drink water every morning when receiving breakfast, and store it in my tumbler. It will be better to provide a tea or coffee service area in the hostel. * Cleanness & Safety Cleanness and safety are very good. I have no issue with this. * Services There is no basic service that most guesthouses provide in general: toilet paper and drink water. Wifi is too weak to use the internet. Other services like laundry are satisfied. * Others During my stay, I couldn't enjoy having an exchange time with other travelers. I think it is because there is no reason to stay in a common space where only sofas and a table are. Largely guesthouse provides a commonplace where guests enjoy better the internet or drinks including tea or coffee and foods, which makes guests meet each other naturally and structurally. In conclusion, if the hostel provides basic services like toilet paper and commonplace with drink water and electronic kettles, it will be much better. And it is necessary to change its signboard so that is more recognizable. Except issues I mentioned above, it is a very good budget lodge.

A good hotel in the city center, the staff are helpful and the service is good

El hostal es un grato respiro del caos de El Cairo. Cabe destacar que tiene dos plantas, la 1 y la 4, conectadas por un ascensor clásico y una escalera. El desayuno diario fue muy apreciado y delicioso, preparado al momento para cada persona. Las camas son cómodas y cuentan con una pequeña luz y un enchufe para cargar dispositivos. Hay una zona común para pasar el rato y conocer gente. Algunos sanitarios de los baños están rotos, pero se puede arreglárselas sin problema.

When we arrived, it was a little difficult to find the building, because there was no sign of Lucky Hostel in the lobby. However a very persistent man outside, insisted that the building with sign “El otel”, is the correct building. We trust him and we entered. Another problem, it looked like to use the elevator to 4th floor, we must have access card. We wait for about 5 minutes and fortunately there was a man came down, and we asked his help to tap on the elevator using his card. Other than that, my husband & I were happy to stay in this hostel. Our room was so big and with sofa too!! Staff were very kind and helpful. Breakfast was good. Hot shower was very pleasant in cold morning. And we were very happy that the staff allow us to put our luggage while we were away to Luxor. We stay for total of 4 nights and we were allowed again to put our luggage while we went shopping, because our flight was in the middle of the night.

Reservamos un lugar para alojarnos con poca antelación y cuando llegamos tarde por la noche, el propietario aún nos saludó cálidamente y nos presentó las instalaciones del albergue. Además del hermoso diseño interior y exterior, el albergue también ofrece cocina, microondas, refrigerador, estufa, ollas, etc. Incluso hay una piscina en el patio trasero. El albergue tiene habitaciones individuales y dormitorios, pero a diferencia de los albergues juveniles en los que me he alojado antes, este tiene pisos muy altos, probablemente más de cuatro metros, por lo que incluso las camas en los dormitorios son muy cómodas y puedes estar de pie completamente en las literas superiores e inferiores. Los dormitorios de los niños y las niñas están en pisos diferentes, y hay baños y duchas especiales solo para mujeres, por lo que las niñas se sentirán muy seguras si se quedan allí solas. La habitación individual en la que nos alojamos era muy espaciosa, totalmente equipada y tenía un balcón con vegetación visible desde la ventana. A diferencia de todos los demás hoteles en los que me alojé en Egipto, la ropa de cama que proporcionaba este albergue era muy nueva y cómoda, lo cual es realmente raro en Egipto. No importaba el precio de los hoteles en los que me había alojado antes, incluso los hoteles en Hurghada que costaban miles de dólares por noche, las sábanas y las fundas de los edredones estaban todas hechas bolitas, desgastadas y muy ásperas. El albergue ofrece servicios completos. Se ofrece té gratuito en las zonas públicas. También hay muchas mesas, sillas y sofás donde podrás tumbarte o sentarte a tu antojo. Hay personal especial para vigilar durante la noche, por lo que es muy seguro. Las condiciones sanitarias de todo el albergue son comparables a las de un hotel de cinco estrellas. Es tan limpio y ordenado que parece que no estás en Egipto... Si es necesario, el propietario te ofrecerá un desayuno delicioso y económico, recién preparado después de realizar tu pedido. Como acabábamos de llegar del Desierto Blanco y *****, era difícil lavar nuestra ropa a mano, así que el jefe nos proporcionó servicios de lavandería y secado. El precio era inimaginablemente bajo, sólo se necesitaban una docena de yuanes para lavar y secar un montón de ropa. También hay un lindo gatito en el albergue, y a la mayoría de los huéspedes que se alojan en el albergue les encanta jugar con él. El albergue tiene una excelente ubicación, justo en el centro de la ciudad, muy cerca del Museo Nacional Egipcio y conveniente para comer e ir de compras. Rara vez escribo reseñas serias, pero este albergue es realmente el lugar más cómodo y tranquilizador en el que me he alojado en Egipto.

Me alojé aquí durante mi viaje a El Cairo y la ubicación es excelente. El wifi funcionaba bien y tuve una estancia estupenda. El desayuno, que consistía en hummus y pan, estaba bien. Es una excelente opción para una estancia económica.

The hotel is quite close to the Egyptian museum, The facility is okay - The place is quite old but clean. The hotel staff here are very nice especially Mr Anas he was quite energetic and really looking forward to service + friendly I didn't expect that he was invites me to the lunch together with them ** note** for someone who cannot sleep with the noise - the hotel is quite close to the Egyptian Street which is always honking the horn. Solution ** ust bring an earplug ( The one that you would receive on in airplane ) and everything's gonna be fine In conclusion this hotel is reasonably priced for this quality. if you don't expect for something luxury but friendly , This hotel could be your choice

El hotel está ubicado en el casco antiguo de El Cairo y sus instalaciones podrían mejorarse. Es un auténtico hotel de El Cairo. El servicio de recepción es cálido y acogedor, y está cerca de muchas atracciones. Un mensaje en la recepción es muy reconfortante: ”¡Ven como huésped, vete como amigo!”.

La habitación no es grande, pero está limpia y ordenada. El estilo es un poco retro. Es una casa renovada en el casco antiguo. Está en el sexto piso. El ascensor parece un poco inestable y solo puede llevar a 3 personas a la vez. El personal de recepción es entusiasta. Hay pocas opciones para el desayuno, pero el precio está bien. Es adecuado para viajes económicos.

Excellent location near Tahrir Square / Egyptian Museum and Sadat Metro Station. Staff were excellent in particular the manager Mr Ahmed receptionist Alaa and house keeping Azze. Breakfast was good. 7 floors reception and communal lounge on top floor. Whilst we were there I was admitted to hospital they checked up on me daily via my wife and friend who was also staying at the hotel. Warm welcome back when I recovered. About 20 to 30 minute car journey to GEM and the Giza Plateau / Pyramids and Sphinx. About 45 minutes to an hour drive to both Sphinx and Cairo Airports
