Hilton Vacation Club Cedar Breaks Brian Head

This is where motels can excel- by offering basic accommodation, nothing fancy, but given the price point they offer decent beds/breakfast options, and clean rooms. Coffee, boiled eggs, yogurt, bread, French toast (prepackaged/place in a toaster), nothing fancy but a good offering for the price. Nice location, balconies on the upper rooms, all amenities in the rooms including a refrigerator and microwave.

We were really impressed with the standard of accommodation at Skyridge and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property itself is in an enviable tranquil setting on a ridge overlooking the red rocks of Capitol. Our Juniper suite was beautiful and clean and we spent hours on the balcony relaxing and taking in those magnificent skies and stars and the stunning sunrise the following morning. Breakfast was a cut above too. Freshly made, tasty and ample in portion. Communication prior to arrival was good with clear directions and instructions for checking in. Shawn and his team were professional, helpful and friendly. The considerable recent investment in the property has paid dividends. We can thoroughly recommend a stay at Skyridge and judge it to be well priced.

Casitas was great. The easiest check-in and check-out I have ever experienced. Casitas was very responsive with any questions or concerns even though there was nobody on property. The room was clean and packed full of extra amenities. The white noise machine was clutch! The stay exceeded my expectations and would recommend Casitas at Capital Reef to anybody. There was construction going on during the day (but not till 10am). And good for Casitas, they deserve to expand their business.

Parry Lodge

We’ve stayed here several times. It is an historic (older) hotel/motel; some rooms open to the outside and some are in a slightly newer block of rooms that open to interior hallways. There are also a handful of small cottages around the pool. Kanab’s claim to fame is that they were a site for many Hollywood westerns in the 30s-50s, and quite a few Golden Age movie stars stayed at Parry Lodge. We like the history and the vintage western posters that decorate the rooms and property. Rooms are not spacious but are clean and well equipped with microwaves, coffee makers, mini fridges, lots of towels, and bath amenities. Floors are laminate. Beds are very comfortable which is unusual for moderately-priced lodgings these days. The best deal in town is the $8 breakfast buffet, with a wide variety of hot and cold breakfast options including real eggs, bacon/ham, pancakes/waffles, biscuits & gravy, fresh fruit, yogurt, different toast/pastries, and of course lots of hot coffee, tea, and juice, all served in a spacious breakfast room. We had a wait to check in this time due to a “laundry issue” while they were fully booked. The desk staff was helpful and managed everything well. We’ve used the outdoor pool in the past but didn’t do so this time (we should have, the weather was great!) You can walk to several dining options within 2-3 blocks north of the hotel; it’s a convenient jumping off point if you’re headed to Zion or other outdoor adventures in that area.

Of the five places we stayed on our trip visiting the Big Five Parks, this was my favorite. It's a short walk to the park's Visitors Center from the hotel. There's a coffee shop (which makes delicious sandwiches), a grocery store, Brew Pub, and a store with hiking gear next door to the Lodge. We ate twice at the Brew Pub -- casual with good food. The complex also has a shuttle that will take you into the park and then another that will take you into the very cute town of Springdale. (We ate one evening in Springdale.) The room had a small fridge, sink, microwave, and coffee maker. If you were looking for a very quick dinner in your room, you could grab something at the grocery store and heat it up. The Lodge also had a laundry and a pool. The only thing we found odd in our room: there was no dresser and there was room for one under the wall-mounted TV. That was odd.

We stayed in Bryce Canyon Log Cabins on our recent visit to Tropic, Utah. The cabin had two beds and slept four. The bed was not super comfortable, but it worked. There was a TV, microwave, coffee maker, and mini fridge in the cabin. The bathroom was on the small side and the toilet rocked. There was a slight odor in the room, but we bought some air freshener across the street at the market and that helped. The room was clean; the beds were made and the towels changed each day. The view of Powell Point was great from the cabins as wells as the mountains on the west side of Tropic. The cabins are right along the main street of Tropic (Highway 12) and are convenient to gas, the market, the hardware store, and a couple of restaurants. Bryce Canyon National Park, Red Canyon, and Grand Staircase National Monument are all nearby. Bryce Canyon Log Cabins were a good place to get some sleep.
