I love this place so much that a part of me wants to gatekeep this hidden gem. Fanzhu梵住 is a beautifully curated boutique hotel that delivers outstanding hospitality. I initially booked a 5-day stay but loved it so much that I extended for an extra day, willingly sacrificing my next destination. I was initially worried the hotel might be a ”pretty façade.” Fortunately, Fanzhu met all my needs of functionality and comfort (Breakfast, Air Conditioning, an excellent shower, free self-service laundry, an ideal location). The property is far from perfection, but it overcompensates with simple, heartfelt sincerity. You can feel the tremendous thought and effort poured into this place to make guests feel comfortable. ✨ Highlights, Who Will Love This Place: ✅#English-Speaking Travellers: For foreigners unfamiliar with China, it is extremely helpful that the owner is fluent in English. ✅#Design & Aesthetics: Warm & modern. The property exudes zen-like comfort with charming decors. It has a gorgeous yard, with swimming pool, and ample outdoor seatings. ✅#Remote workers: I didn’t plan to work on this trip, but I could see myself working there remotely. If you come from the city where every building looks like a boxy Lego piece, you will deeply appreciate this place. ✅#Personalized Service: Kudos to the young lady boss! In a place like Wanfenglin where the location pins and 导航 can be vague to foreigners, sh took the time to understand my itinerary, how I planned my routes around Wanfenglin. She gave recommendations, and helped me check my “Destination” input on car hiring app. Airport and railway station pickups can also be arranged easily too. ✅#Immaculate Rooms: THE BED! Oh my, the bed! The linens, pillows, and towels are all premium quality. Even the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash feel luxurious. The bed is so comfortable that I would return just for a sleep-in holiday. Ok I know I’m mentioning the bed twice but it’s worth mentioning thrice. Extra points from me that the rooms are non-smoking. ✅#Location: Before arriving, I read a review describing this place as ”a piece of tranquillity close to the action”. Now I get it. It sits as an independent building on a peaceful road/hill(?), yet it is a short, easy walk to the Bagua fields and Zhong Nahui, where you can find idyllic cafes, little shops, and children playing in the fields. ✅#Breakfast: Delicious local-flavoured noodles!They also offer more conservative standards like toasts, eggs, and coffee. Oh, the hotel has an ice machine! Ooooohh so sexy in the hot weather (apparently ice cubes are rare in Wanfenglin). ✅#The Resident Pets: As a pet lover who willingly pays to visit cat cafes, having resident dog and cats sealed the deal for me. ✅#BONUS TIP: The Rooftop Night Sky. Unassuming and rugged at first glance, I was initially unimpressed. But I heard good reviews from others, so I gave it another go, and am thankful I did! Stay awhile, allow your eyes some time to adjust in the darkness, and you would see the sky completely transforms. On my last night, I saw a shooting star! I kid you not. It was an absolutely unbelievable, unforgettable moment. Incredibly awesome! ⚠️ Considerations Before You Book (Who should avoid): - If you love standard chain hotels. Fanzhu is intimate enough to offer personalized service. But I can imagine some of my more pampered friends who prefer international breakfast buffet spread would struggle to settle for this simplicity. Some things are just not realistic expectations off a boutique. - Mobility needs: There is no elevator. They would graciously carry your suitcases. However, elderly may want to enquire about ground-floor room. - In the midst of nature: If you have zero tolerance for insects, you may want to skip staying in Wanfenglin. It is a humid, lush environment surrounded by fields and trees. Personally, with a body spray of insect repellent, I wasn't bothered at all. - Pet allergies: If you hate pets (but why would you? :( w

Resumen ubicado en la parte delantera: muy bien, muy bien, muy bien, muy bien. Con servicio de transporte de alta velocidad, el jefe de la calle principal saldrá a ayudar a traer sus maletas a la cabaña popular y nos ayudar a movernos a la habitación. La habitación es amplia y todo lo que necesitas es todo lo que necesitas, la recepción de la cabaña tiene defensa, etc., se puede decir que es muy cuidadoso. El desayuno y el paisaje popular son los más favoritos. De hecho, es difícil imaginar que el precio pueda comer una sopa de sopa encantadora, ver un paisaje tan bonito. I'd like to share my impressions of my stay at this hotel. Firstly, the hotel is very new and designer inside. The view of the village is, I'd say, the best in the area. First things first: the hotel offers a butler service, and when you arrive at the attraction, a butler will meet you and take your luggage. You don't have to bother walking to the bus, which is quite a distance, and the entire scenic area is on a mountain, requiring constant climbing. The hotel is also located on a hillside, so getting to it requires a climb up narrow steps. The butler carried my luggage and accompanied me the entire time. The walk from the entrance to the hotel took about 25 minutes, including the bus and the walk. Upon arrival at the hotel, I was greeted at reception and offered afternoon tea; there were five drinks on the menu. I chose a milk oolong tea with milk, and they offered me fruit, nuts, and homemade cookies. It was delicious. I spent the entire time relaxing, drinking tea, and enjoying the village views. After I'd rested, I went to my room. I was given a room on the 4th floor with the lucky number 888. The room has absolutely everything: excellent Loccitan cosmetics, toiletries, robes, and slippers—everything is of very good quality. There's also a modern hairdryer and steam iron. There was a bath on the balcony, but I didn't use it because it was chilly. The room is really new; it has underfloor heating if you get cold, and also air conditioning. The bed linen, pillows, and blanket were wonderful. I didn't even notice how my night passed; I truly rested for the two nights I stayed at this hotel. The hotel staff explained how I could spend my time and took me to a restaurant where I could have a delicious meal. Then I went for a walk. I spent the entire evening strolling around the village and taking in the sights. That evening, when I returned, I was offered evening soup, which I really enjoyed; it was very unusual. Since I was a foreign tourist, the hotel staff communicated with me using a translator via WeChat, which was very convenient and prevented any misunderstandings. The next morning, I was offered breakfast, which was served on the first floor of the hotel. The dining room was also very beautiful and well-renovated. After breakfast, I went for a walk around the village to take beautiful photos. I had a wonderful time in the village, taking in the sights. I especially enjoyed the local people's show on New Year's Eve, as well as the singing of the women and men of the Miao people. The day before my departure, the hotel staff asked what time my return tickets to Guiyang would be and told me they would arrange for me to be transported to the entrance so I could call a taxi. I would give this hotel the highest rating, firstly because it's in a wonderful location on a mountain with a magnificent view, and literally a three-minute walk from the main observation deck. I would also give the highest rating to the hotel personnel, and especially to the butler his wechat name Velpro, they are all tried their best to help me and accompanied me on all my questions. I would also give the highest rating to the hotel owners, who care about the interior order, cleanliness, and the care of their guests. This level of hospitality is truly rare. If I return to this village, I will definitely stay at this hotel. I recommend it to everyone.

Llegué con grandes expectativas, ya que la reserva indicaba que tenía 88 metros cuadrados, pero me sorprendió que me asignaran dos habitaciones: una con vistas al río y otra con vistas a la ciudad, situada junto al pasillo. Como somos amigos y compañeros de trabajo, no entendía por qué una suite constaba de dos habitaciones separadas. Tras quejarme al hotel, nos asignaron dos habitaciones con vistas al río en la segunda y tercera planta. El hotel estaba justo al lado del río Wuyang y quedé satisfecho con las instalaciones, el servicio y las comodidades, incluida la bañera de la habitación. Al abrir las cortinas, la vista nocturna del río era increíblemente hermosa. También había muchos restaurantes cerca, lo que hizo que nuestra estancia fuera muy cómoda. We arrived in Xijiang and were immediately met with such a kind surprise—they upgraded our room for my birthday, which truly set the tone for our entire stay. We were on the third floor with the most wonderful view, looking out over their little water feature and the village beyond. Our balcony, complete with a tea set and two chairs, quickly became one of our favorite spots. Sitting there, especially in the evening, felt magical—like we were nestled among the stars overlooking the town. The location is fantastic—just a short walk from the viewing platform and easily accessible down into the main village. Arriving was also incredibly smooth. As first-time visitors to China, we were quite nervous navigating trains and logistics as English speakers, but the hotel staff stepped in early with clear, thoughtful guidance. From the very beginning, they were attentive, responsive, and genuinely kind. When we arrived at the North Gate after taking the shuttle into the scenic area, a staff member met us and carried both of our bags up the hill and stairs to the accommodation. This was such a thoughtful gesture—especially because the terrain can be challenging. (For future travelers: if possible, avoid bringing heavy suitcases—but if you do, you’ll be very well taken care of here.) Check-in was seamless, and our room was extremely comfortable with all the amenities we needed. They provided water, soft robes, and made communication very easy via WeChat. Breakfast was also a highlight—we opted for the Chinese breakfast, which was light, healthy, and a perfect way to start the day before exploring all the incredible street food in town. We especially loved the communal living space—a cozy café-style area with a balcony overlooking the village. It was such a peaceful place to sit, have tea, and take in the views both during the day and under the night sky. They also had everything you could need: a coffee maker, dishes, mugs, and even fresh spring water, which was a lovely touch. The warmth of the people here truly made the experience unforgettable. The housekeeping staff were so kind, and the younger staff members were incredibly helpful and attentive. It really felt like being welcomed into a home rather than just staying at a hotel. And the little cats around the property made it even more special. On our departure day, we were running late for the last bus, and one of the younger staff members carried my very heavy bag down the hill and practically ran with it to make sure we made it on time. He stayed with us until we were safely on board. That level of care and service is something we will never forget. We would return in a heartbeat. Thank you, thank you, thank you again to the family and the entire staff for your kindness and for taking such wonderful care of us. You made our short stay in Xijiang an absolute pleasure and a weekend we will remember forever.

I booked very early to stay 9 nights to rest from the 5/1 busy holiday crowd for my one month travel in this region of China. The first week of my stay turned out to be a wonderful encounter of sorts. Two different ladies I met during my Feb trip to Shaxi, Yunnan decided to join me in Xingyi during their 5/1 holiday. I explained my new stay situation to the lady owner and very readily she arranged for us to stay in the 3 bedroom during their visit and move me back to my original booking after they left. Her flexibility and adaptability is impressive. We hit it off immediately and my 2 friends from different parts of China also experienced her kindness and super hospitality. All of us also received a thoughtful parting gift from her. Because the homestay was firstly built as a home, all amenities you can think of for a comfortable home is in each room. There is a good brand water purifier that emits drinking water at useful set temperatures for boiling, coffee, baby or room. There is a fridge within the room and any extra cookwares can be provided as needed. The room is also a Smarthome, I was delighted that xiaoai tongxue could understand my weird Chinese pronunciation. The bed and furnishings are top notched. I slept very well and deeply every night. I also used the Haier washing machine, make sure not to pour too much washing detergent as it is a high efficent machine. I am very grateful to be invited for meals whenever I'm at my room. It was very heart warming to witness the big heartedness of the lady owner. She gave me the feeling of coming home to a family that I never knew I have. I felt rested and so much at ease staying at this beautiful home that I was dragging my feet when it is time to leave. I think for my future travels, I will consider visiting for at least a week's rest, since its location is so accessible via either airport or highspeed train station. There is also a medical wellness shop next door. Best way to fully experience the life at this homestay is to show up for a free foot soak to understand the traditional chinese medicine concept of wellness and talk to their customers to learn of their recovery experiences. In summary, I highly recommend this homestay when you want to rest in a well designed city like Xingyi and to experience the friendliness of Guizhou people. The weather in Xingyi is also very conducive for good living. A good life should be lived and experienced like this; everyday making a point to eat well together, having good conversations and laughs, with love. Here, the connections are real.

This homestay is conveniently located near major tourist attractions and close to train station. Offering excellent transportation access, dining options and ideal for both business and leisure. Free shuttle service is provided for pick-up and sending off to train station upon request. The amazing and scenic courtyard is surrounded with ginko trees and colourful roses providing home-like atmosphere and fragrance of fresh-ground coffee can be smelled when afternoon tea was served. Rooms are spotlessly clean and well equipped. with complete facilities, clean & well maintained bathrooms with absence of strong odors. The unique decoration & design with good matching colours really impressed me. The stay here was beyond my expectation and definitely i will be back for the next visit to experience the 5-star home-like service again.

El Parque Nacional Forestal de Gülen es en realidad una zona de montaña desencadenada, donde la vegetación está densa, algunas paisajes son muy bonitos, un poco parecidos a las siete pequeñas. El paisaje es todavía muy bueno para caminar Alojamiento: El nuevo pueblo que elegí para cambiar un edificio residente está en el puente de cinco ojos. El paisaje fuera de la ventana es hermoso. El panorama de la montaña de 180 grados es hermoso para fotografar tiene una sensación muy agradable Jugar: En un breve momento hay dos, a la caja de labrador, a la caja de Qinglong a la cubierta de cinco ojos, no hay problema con el equipo de caminar. 😍❤️❤️❤️ Wujiang Zhai es un hermoso y bien conservado antiguo centro turístico chino, con numerosas actuaciones artísticas durante todo el día, prácticos talleres de artesanía, buena gastronomía de Guiyang para deleitarse, bares con música relajante. La espaciosa habitación que nos asignaron en Zhu Lan Shui es muy limpia, con una cómoda cama con dosel, aire acondicionado/calefacción, TV, baño moderno, duchas de agua caliente, inodoro con asientos, un buen y saludable desayuno chino y un servicio excelente. La vista desde el balcón es simplemente magnífica. Lo visitamos en diciembre, fuera de temporada alta, con menos turistas.

El servicio fue excelente. La ama de llaves Xiaolong nos recogió en la puerta norte con antelación, llevó nuestro equipaje durante todo el viaje, mejoró nuestra habitación, nos envió una guía de viaje, nos entregó un baño de pies en la habitación por la noche y el desayuno también se entregó directamente a la habitación. La vista desde el balcón era muy buena y se podía disfrutar directamente del paisaje de todo el pueblo Miao sin tener que ir a la plataforma de observación. La mañana del check-out también nos prepararon el desayuno con antelación.
