My stay at Samawa Living was absolutely phenomenal! From the moment I arrived, I felt an incredible sense of warmth and care from the staff. As a solo traveller, I was made to feel so safe and seen, which made the experience even more special. It truly felt like a home away from home. I’d like to give a special thanks to Kadogo, Hashimu, Baby, Asha, and the rest of the amazing team who went above and beyond to make my stay unforgettable. Their genuine kindness and attentive service stood out in every interaction. The location of the hotel was perfect – close to the iconic Paje Beach, with convenient access via buggy, so I could enjoy the beauty of the area while still retreating to the calm and peaceful atmosphere of the hotel. The boho vibes of Samawa Living were stunning, with every detail thoughtfully designed to create a cosy and serene environment. From the delicious meals to the immaculate rooms and tranquil ambience, everything about Samawa Living exceeded my expectations. I can’t wait to return! If you’re looking for a safe, stylish, and welcoming place to stay in the Paje area, I highly recommend it.

Perfect location , beautifull beach.A great holliday because of the great staff of the Dhow inn. So friendly, helpful and attentive!There is a small private beach for the guests. Where they serve your drinks and food. The room was simple modern,light and clean. If something was not ok, they immediately solve it. The food is good and you can also eat à la carte if you prefer . We will come back next year! Special thanks for the staff of the restaurant/bar (Issa,Leonard, Deus, Tuamaini, Salmin and all the others!!! ) Hakuna matata , a sante sana!!

We had a fantastic stay at Zanzibar Bay Resort and Spa, we used this hotel as our base to travel around the Island and to visit all the all the well known tourist attractions and many not so well known. The hotel staff were amazing super friendly and couldn't do enough to help and make our stay as good as possible. A special mention to the Animation Team who were smiles all day and never stopped providing fun, humour and an opportunity to see and try different things. We loved the Jetty Bar area, great way to enjoy a Sundowner. As per other reviews the beach is blighted by sea grass and the famous Zanzibar tides mean the sea goes out a long way, this did not impact us in any way, loads of amazing famous white sand beaches only a few minutes away either by taxi or the hotel shuttle bus. Ensure you bring sea shoes and you can enjoy the low tides and do some exploring in the bay. We found an amazing local guide (Eddie) who helped us get around and made our visit to Zanzibar all the more special, make sure you look out for him on the beach. Thanks to all at Zanzibar Bay Resort and Spa, looking forward to seeing you all again before too long.

This is a little piece of paradise. The hotel is right on a beautiful beach and has a lovely infinity pool looking out to the ocean. The food is the best we had on the island. The owners and staff are lovely people they can’t enough for their guests, it really has a home from home vibe. The grounds are beautiful and the views when having your meals are breathtaking. Such a tranquil spot and the rooms are spacious comfortable and clean and the WiFi was great. I can’t fault anything about this hotel. Such a beautiful setting

We were pleasantly surprised by this location - loved it. From the moment you walked in, it was like an oasis! Luxuriant vegetation, a good pool, and nice place to relax around it. The rooms were much bigger than expected. The decoration was a perfect combination between boho chic and minimalist. The roof was the restaurant which was amazing. Loved the food! Even tough we chose the same breakfast almost every day, the avocado never got old :))). Dinner was always on top and had really good options. The vegetarian options surprised us in a very good way! Staff was very attentive and helpful! Now to our hosts - the Zanzibarista team - the were very very helpful, form the start, when we started looking for options in Zanzibar. It made it in the end easy to choose them. After, constantly giving us the needed infos, tips and tricks. On site, all of our expectations were met and above. We even had do visit the ER due to a health condition and Alex was so nice and helped us with the entire process.

Mi familia y yo estuvimos en Zanzíbar durante las vacaciones de diciembre con alojamiento reservado en el hotel y resort ngalawa. Debo decir que el lugar era impresionante desde la entrada. Palmeras por todos lados. Era ideal para familias, lo que permitía el entretenimiento fácil de los niños, con no sé cuántas piscinas (sí, son tantas). Está alejado del caos de la ciudad pero muy cerca de muchas actividades y sitios turísticos. Hay una guía de viaje interna que ayuda con la reserva de excursiones y sí, con la reserva de prueba de covid. El personal fue increíble siempre disponible. Restaurante también en el sitio. Puedo escribir un libro sobre este lugar. Ve a verlo tu mismo 😉

Beautiful resort, clean and well maintained, all services one could hope for. Rooms were nice (we tried two, because took a two-night safari in the middle of our stay). The care they took with mosquito nets around the bed and fly repellent every evening felt very good. All pools (three of them) were nice, somewhat different but something for everyone. The jetty reaching out to the sea was great, a nice bar (open 24 hrs) and sunbed area at the end made swimming possible, when the tide was right. Otherwise, observing the tidal changes was fascinating, and we took a long walk straight towards the sea, and back when the water started to rise again. The food in main restaurant was ok, enough variety, especially in dessert department. Spa was very nice, do try the hamam (sauna and actual hamam cleansing), it was very very enjoyable! After all the sunscreen and after sun -creams, it was great to feel so clean. The only minus was the food hall (main restaurant) when the birds got in to steal food. Seemed a bit unsanitary. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
